Streight Streight

Photos By Jennifer Ruggles
Ashley Streight, a dynamic force in the real estate scene, is making waves in the industry with her unwavering dedication, impressive achievements, and commitment to her clients. Born and raised in Wichita, Streight’s journey from marketing expert to thriving REALTOR® is a testament to her determination and passion for helping others achieve their dreams.
Wichita, one of which is my current broker, Desiree Mesle. When she stepped into a broker role, she asked me if I had ever thought about getting my license since I had already been doing marketing for agents for several years and I said yes,” she
recounted. The prospect of combining her marketing prowess with her burgeoning interest in real estate was too enticing to resist.
Streight’s leap into real estate was nothing short of swift and decisive. “From the start of courses to passing my test was only seven days,” she added. Since receiving her real estate license in the summer of 2021, Streight’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her dedication and commitment to excellence led her to become an independent agent for NAV Real Estate, a pivotal move that solidified her position in the industry.
Desiree Mesle, Broker at NAV Real Estate, played a pivotal role in Streight’s journey. “Desiree and I began a professional working relationship in 2018 and quickly became good friends. Not only do I get to do what I love for work, but I get to do it alongside an absolutely wonderful person inside and out,” Streight shared. Mesle’s mentorship and support have been instrumental in shaping Streight’s path.
Wichita Real Producers • 19
When asked about her most rewarding moments, Streight’s passion for her work becomes abundantly clear. “Seeing how happy clients are when we get to the closing table, especially first-time buyers, is incredible. I know how life-changing it can be to buy your first home and it makes me so happy to be a part of that for others,” she revealed. Streight’s commitment to making a positive impact on people’s lives is deeply rooted in her childhood.
“I grew up as a competitive figure skater for 12 years, followed by being a coach for six years after that. It was a very large part of shaping me into who I am today and I am grateful for that time,” Streight shared. This formative experience instilled in her the importance of discipline, hard work, and perseverance.
When it comes to sources of inspiration and guidance, Ashley’s gaze turns unwaveringly to her parents. “To this day, I could not ask for better supporters or mentors in both my personal and professional life,” Streight affirmed. Their steadfast presence has been a cornerstone in her journey, offering unwavering support that has shaped her path. Streight’s family, anchored by her amazing parents, Marge and Bill, and her older brother Dustin, forms the heart of her world. Growing up, Streight’s pursuits were interwoven with her passion for figure skating, with countless hours spent at ice rinks. As adulthood beckoned, geographical distances arose, yet the family’s bonds remained resolute. Although separated by miles—Dustin now residing in Nova Scotia—the family’s rare reunions are cherished occa sions filled with games, karaoke, and treasured moments. Streight’s upcoming family cruise in November promises a new chapter of shared experiences and joy.
Outside of her thriving real estate career, Streight finds solace and happiness in her beloved Frenchie, Diesel, and in the company of cherished friends and family. Finding comfort in the simple pleasures, she enjoys leisurely evenings at home, indulging in the magic of movies. Streight’s world is a testament to the enduring power of family ties and the profound fulfillment found in the company of loved ones.

IIf you could choose one attribute that your favorite leaders have, what would it be?
One of those that might finish at or near the top on your list is likely a sense of care and commitment for others. Because that kind of empathy and nurturing helps others find their own paths forward, as well.
When Linda and Jim returned to the area, she worked for Aerobicize, handling their bookwork for a couple years. In time, the idea of getting into real estate naturally came along.
It was natural, because Linda had an important influence within her own family in the business. In fact her mother was a REALTOR®, as was
Upon earning her real estate license, Linda joined Gold Key, which is where her mother hung her license.
In 1988, Linda started working with new homes, and has specialized in that side of the business ever since. In addition, she also works with patios and zero-entry homes in the

“It’s something that is very rewarding for me. I really like to be around people,” she says. “One of the reasons for that is I believe that you can learn a lot from everyone you’re with.”
Away from work, Linda’s life is made very enriching by the relationship she shares with Jim, who owns the Kanex Oil Company. In fact, they have been

Linda and Jim treasure time with their two daughters — Stephanie Nall, who lives in Wichita, and Nicole Robbins, who lives in Portland.

The fact that you’re reading this story means you’re one of the leaders in the real estate industry in the region. To get to this point, you needed to make a massive impact for many people around you … applying a certain level of care and expertise to their goals.
That’s the same dynamic at work with Meritrust Credit Union.
Seeing the Impact

Home lending efforts at Meritrust Credit Union entered a new chapter about 13 years ago. As John recalls, a small group of six people came

“We came together with diverse backgrounds. We had all been in mortgage lending for quite some time and we felt this was our time to create

what we wanted. We mapped out a new way to originate loans,” John remembers. “It’s not just how we originate. It’s also how we underwrite, process and close loans. We do it quite a bit differently. We embrace that.”
Mindy has been with the team for 25 years and has served as Operations Manager for the past decade. She explains the Meritrust Home Loans Difference.
“We do things a little differently. We have the files come in from the sales team and go directly to underwriting, whereas most
lenders have files go to processing first,” Mindy explains. “We underwrite and find any issues up front … and then it flows seam

Meritrust Credit Union makes on its partners and clients is teamwork.
“I’m always about the harmony. I appreciate, respect and love our team
Messina feels pride in the level of service that the team offers because of its cohesiveness and process. “Plus, we know that we can depend on
our Operations team to deliver. That gives us the confidence that we can go out and offer the best possible options for REALTORS® and buyers and that it will get to closing in a simpler way than what they’ve seen before.”
Mindy smiles as she thinks about the rewarding element of the team’s work—meeting and surpassing hurdles that arise.

a few years, followed by a time working with John McKenzie with Coldwell Banker (then known as Plaza Real Estate) as a Transaction Coordinator for his company. In time, she transitioned to become part of the management team at Plaza Real Estate.
In time, Nikki stepped back and took time to raise her family. In the process, she put her license on hold for a few years before reactivating her license.

giving my buyer or seller clients lots of different ideas to accomplish their goals,” Nikki says.
“There are many ways to get there. I always start by
asking my client what their dream transaction looks like.”
Her results have been rewarding all the way around. In fact, in 2022, she recorded over $10 million in sales volume, and she’s on track to reach the same level of production in 2023.
FAMILY HIGHLIGHTS
Away from work, Nikki’s world is made much richer by her family, including her husband, Chris, and their children — 17-year-old son, Trenton; 15-year-old daughter, Ellis; and 11-yearold son, Gage.

“I would say that it’s important to understand the power of marketing and social media … staying in front of people is super important and getting out-of-the-box of mailers and email campaigns. It’s going to take more creativity to keep your name in front of people,” Nikki points out.
“Being well networked, whether it’s serving through different organizations or serving through the local schools is vital … being the classroom mom, getting involved in school, church and other extracurricular activities.
Another central part of Nikki’s life is her faith.
“My faith has kept me really close to the Lord. I keep that in mind as I negotiate deals and pray for them to come together,” Nikki says. “Faith, God and Jesus Christ are huge parts of how I do my business. I pray with many clients at some point during the process, too.”
As Nikki keeps gaining ground during her rewarding return to the business, she does so for all the right reasons.
“It’s important to me to make my clients feel known … I know them well and know their family well … and I know what their desires are in real estate and what they’re looking to accomplish,” Nikki says. “I’m trying to help them reach their overall financial goals, and real estate is just a piece of that.”

“The fun part is when I sold a house to someone in the past, and now I’m working with their children or others in their families. I love growing those relationships through time.”
Originally, Stephanie had planned on making a difference
“That’s what I always thought I wanted to be,” she says with a smile.
She graduated from Kansas State with an Elementary Education degree, and she dove in— teaching at the fifth grade level.
It didn’t take long for Stephanie to realize that teaching wasn’t something she wanted to do for the rest of her career. As a result, she moved to parttime teaching once she started her family.
Early Influence
Her mind returned to a time when she was in elementary school herself.
“It was a time during the early 1980s when there weren’t many channels. I remember one that I watched a lot was called the House channel. And all it had was a picture of the front of the house, with the name of the listing agent, the address and the price,” she remembers. “I loved watching that and just letting it run through. I did that from a young age.”
As time went on and she considered which path to take professionally moving forward, her husband, Casey (who is a lender at a local bank) encouraged her to get her real estate license.
She dove in and found success immediately. In fact, during the month after earning her license in 2005, she closed on a deal for a new teacher who was moving to the area.
Growing Her New Career
For a time, Stephanie continued teaching while she worked through the early stages of her real estate career.
“At first, I kept teaching a couple of days at the beginning,” she recalls. “I started off doing very well as a brand new agent, and was able to start off running with the connections I had made.”
She has built a tremendous reputation for results through time. In fact, she has recorded over $133 million in career sales volume representing 769 transactions, including nearly $20 million in sales volume in 2022.
Family Fulfillment
Stephanie’s world is made much richer by her family, including her husband, Casey and their three children — 20-year-old, Caden, who attends
“My youngest had two open heart surgeries, and they supported us very well,” she remembers. “Our family makes a donation to them every year during the holidays and we also like to volunteer and make meals and serve them.”

As Stephanie reflects on her career, she has no regrets. She credits both her teaching and real estate parts of her life.
