Since the beginning of my studies, I found a taste for inter vention in existing architecture and heritage, which is why I participated in courses of heritage intervention and colla borated in competitions for this purpose.
2
These two main interests are for me fundamental keys to create current projects, of human scale and made to im prove the city.
In this portfolio I show a part of those projects, which have helped me to research on different topics such as residen ce, urban planning, culture, intervention in existing... These projects have helped me to define my style and my con cerns.
ABOUT ME AND THIS PORTFOLIO
As an architect, I have a great interest in sustainability, urbanism and progress within architecture, for this reason, I have participated in workshops and other courses dealing with such important topics as ecology and energy con sumption in buildings.

The following spaces decrease in height to adapt to the urban change that appears at this point in the neighbour hood, until they end in a single storey above ground level, with a much more human and peaceful scale which, with the addition of the roof gardens, integrates with the gar dens planned to the south, creating a direct view along the whole of the façade. The gesture of gradually reducing the height of the complex allows the creation of this view of what is yet to exist, the empty spaces of Palmas Altas, which are already of great landscape value.
7
The existing regularity in the northern block is interrupted by the irregularities of the buildings to the south, generating new angles and spaces. The east fassade is defined as one of the main fassades through which the main entrance to the complex is established. At this point, the north block is set back from the limit established by the statement, ge nerating a covered space open to the boulevard and the designed square. The rest room and foyer not only fulfil the function imposed by the programme, but also act as visual and spatial connectors of exterior and interior, proposing semi-public and semi-private zones that promote the dialo gue of the free spaces of the squares with the courtyards.
The relationship with the surroundings has directly influenced the position and heights that occur throughout the project. The volume aligned with the Finland’s Venue follows the ca non of the adjoining buildings, being linear and with a bay of 12-15 metres, thus filling the avenue in its final stretch.

BIOCLIMATIC PAVILION
The proposal establishes the possibility to create a comon space for knowledge exchange and habit in community. To start developing it, the whole project must scope from the presence of the Moraceae tree located in the midd le and making all classrooms looking into it. Moreover, the limits of the site are built in contrast as a continuous think fence, where little courtyards arrive to meet programmatic, structural and bioclimatic necessities. Those peripheral patios allow the classrooms to be contro lled in terms if independence and acoustic comfort, which gives perfect atmosphere on each classroom but through flexible spaces and cross views. It is an appreciable gain because generates cross ventilatio from the limits to the central agora, where the Moraceae tree helps us the crea tion of the whole system: program and circulation. Besides, the classrooms are arranged in a fan-like shape by ages, from de younger ones closer to the entrance and ending with the older ones liked to the library.
KNOWLEDGE + COMMUNITY
The shape of the building comes from parameters and con ditions based on orientation, flood periods and wind flow on site. Indoor spatial flexibility under the roof is qualified from elements which materiality makes easier all thermod ynamic flows by optimal outcomes: clay, bamboo and the deck intentionally raised. Therefore, the construction of the whole proposal like a flexible pavilion with a rugged frame allows to fight against the posible flood impact.

The project thus becomes the predominance of open spa ces, green spaces and squares, to which are attached the necessary residential areas. The structuring axis of the pro ject is therefore the large central space that runs through the entire proposal and in which a crack is created in the centre to place a restaurant and retail area at a lower level. The central space contains flowerbeds and skylights that allow light to enter the plazas created on the lower level, as well as the access itself. In order to take advantage of the earthworks necessary to create this intervention, green areas and squares with hills and slopes are generated, which are bridged in a natural way in the case of the small parks or mendicants.
35
The facilities are located in the small parks or by means of stands and urban furniture. This is due to two reasons: the first is to generate a visual and acoustic barrier with the more congested neighbouring avenues, and the second is to promote permeability with the neighbouring districts.
The project is based on the idea of a “superblock”. To ful fil this purpose, the first decision taken is to eliminate road traffic at street level, diverting traffic to existing roads and generating the necessary parking areas at a lower level.

The dwellings are arranged linearly, making breaks to impro ve the sunlight and the privacy of the terraces. In the same way, the ground floor is buried 1.5 metres below ground le vel, generating a semi-buried space in which more private facilities such as offices, kindergarten, storage rooms and a square for neighbours are placed.
The project is based on the previous development of the Cruzcampo factory site. Specifically, the block is located between the central strip and the battery of facilities on Avenida Andalucía.
The duplex dwellings are arranged in a gallery. Two types of housing are planned, a corner and a central one whe re the terraces and double heights are designed to provi de the dwellings with flexible spaces, with the possibility of evolving. All the dwellings have a much-needed terrace, and areas for study or home-office are planned that do not invade the private area.

is based on the reorganisation of the central spa ce and on providing the neighbourhood with the facilities that were never built. To this end, a new road is generated that diverts traffic towards the two peripheral roads, leaving the central area as a pedestrian-only zone. It is in this space where a new element that brings order to the area is pre sent: a footbridge that follows the slope of the land along the avenue. Above the walkway is a promenade where the landscape can be observed at different levels, and below it, green spaces and facilities are intertwined. Here there are those facilities that generate life: restaurants, market, sports areas... At this point the pavement leaves and is set back from the limits of the walkway to generate different spaces (interior, green interior, paved exterior, exterior...).
55
In addition to the central facilities, others are planned fur ther away due to the need for privacy (a nursery, a clinic) which are planned following the orthogonal grid of the existing neighbourhood. In the western and highest area, the auditorium and the church are planned, crowning the neighbourhood and looking towards Évora. These two buil dings play with the difference in height, creating squares and entrances at different heights, in contact with ramps and green areas.
We are in the Malagueria neighbourhood, located on the outskirts of the city of Évora, Portugal, a neighbourhood de signed by Siza in the 1970s. The intervention area is characterised by the rigid urban grid of houses which, together with a very rugged terrain, generate the landscape of this characteristic place. The most outstanding feature of the architect’s intervention is undoubtedly “the conduct”, an infrastructure designed to introduce water and electricity installations into the urban Thefabric.project

BUILDING A PALIMSETS
63
Palimsets: “Ancient manuscript that preserves traces of an earlier writing that has been artificially erased.”
A staggered building is built on the perimeter wall, creating sunny spaces and terraces in all the dwellings, while on the ground floor there are shops on the street and Mediterra nean courtyards towards the complex.
Local materials are used, such as mares, clay and ti les, thus giving importance to local trade and produc tion. The structure is made up of arches that differentia te the rooms of the house and mark a constant rhythm of exposed concrete. These arches are important both inside and outside, where the window and door fra mes make up the elevation respecting this structure.
Creating a city in the city. This project is based on the crea tion of housing on the former military barracks in the north of Palma de Mallorca.
