PRODUCT CATALOGUE
ABOUT Lucie Kaas was founded when creative director Esben Gravlev Rasmussen discovered an iconic pattern and some old, wooden animals. Captured by the story reflected in the items, he decided to start telling their stories to the rest of the world - creating the main foundation for Lucie Kaas. A commitment to storytelling is still what characterizes our approach to design. It is our mission to discover designers and create objects that can tell a story, whether that lies in the history of the designer, the use of materials or the shape of the object. We have reflected our mission in a broad and growing range of interior objects for different rooms and occasions. We work with designers from both now and then, each with their own unique ability to create personal, storytelling objects that can inspire our customers to create their own stories with our designs. Within a short period of time, we have experienced great international success with a representation in more than 30 different countries. It is our aim to further expand our global reach to keep telling the stories that we love.
INTRODUCE Cooperating with talents who can bring forward our mission and define new design classics. We work with a range of different designers from around the world that contribute to our universe and help us tell the stories of tomorrow.

PickME With a degree in furniture design from the Aarhus School of Architecture, Anna Karnov’s designs are characterized by being user-oriented. Getting her main inspiration from the interaction between the customer and the piece of furniture, her designs hold a minimal expression yet embody creative and playful details. The name “PickME” is inspired by the opening found in the center of the seat making the stool easy to lift and move around. PickME is made with quality craftsmanship and reflects a modern, Scandinavian look. The combination of wood and metal gives the stool a unique, yet classic impression. The seat’s surface is covered with a rubber coating, allowing for an exclusive feel. This combination of materials and functionality makes PickME an ideal piece of furniture that adds a touch of charisma to the contemporary home.

BoxMove The two designers from the Aarhus School of Architecture Anne Nørbjerg and Sanne Kyed together form the design team Nordvink. With their innovative approach to design, the creative duo won the FSC Design Award in 2012 and have been represented at Salon del Mobile in Milan. Mixing stylistically consistent materials with edgy colors Nordvink design products for the everyday, urban lifestyle. The idea behind BoxMove was to come up with a functional storage system that stands out from the crowd. BoxMove combines elegant wood with modern colors. The moveable modules allow for different looks and solutions meeting individual needs. BoxMove comes as a large shelf fitting up to six modules and a smaller side table with place for one moveable module.

Peggy Japanese designer Megumi Ito has a degree in Space Design from Osaka University of Arts and Wood Orientated Furniture Design from the University of Gothenburg. Having lived and studied in many different countries, Megumi has formed her own unique approach to furniture design. She is inspired by the impulsive elements of everyday life where her designs combine humor and functionalism. The Peggy clip is a new and refreshing way of interpreting the standard wall hook. Its shape reminds us of the classic clothes peg – hence the name Peggy. The clip has a variety of applications with inner sides built with black rubber fixings that hold items tightly when hanging. Peggy is flexible with eye-catching elements for the modern home.

Sketch.Inc for Lucie Kaas Becky Kemp is the artist behind the creative world of Sketch.inc. Her work is inspired by geometric expression, Japanese illustration and Nordic aesthetics. Sketch.inc was born from the pages of Becky’s sketchbooks that have kept her company all through her life, hence the name. She studied Fine Art Paining for three years and started working as an art teacher before concentrating full-time on Sketch.inc. The Sketch.inc for Lucie Kaas collection consists of Kokeshi dolls, graphic paperware and wooden accessories. The characters within the collection were born from Becky’s sketchbook doodles of caricatured icons from the art, design and historical world as a celebration of those who have influenced and inspired.

INFLUENCE Collections that are based on old, timeless items from iconic, Scandinavian designers. We see a great importance in retelling the stories of classics that despite their age still have a place in today’s design industry.

Arne Clausen Collection Norwegian artist Arne Clausen (1923-1977) is one of the bestkept secrets within the history of Scandinavian design. Working as a decorator for the Norwegian company Cathrineholm A/S, Arne Clausen was asked to present new design possibilities and came up with what then became one of Scandinavia’s biggest design successes: the iconic ‘Lotus’ pattern. The pattern was produced on a series of different enamelware products and became an instant international success during the 1960s and 70s. Lucie Kaas has reintroduced the ‘Lotus’ pattern on a series of ceramics and porcelain. The most recent addition to the collection, a series of tableware, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic pattern that is still relevant even after half a century.

Gunnar Flørning Collection Gunnar Flørning (1932-2014) was one of Denmark’s most successful designers within wooden handicrafts. The history of Gunnar Flørnings popular designs date back to 1952 when he was enrolled in mandatory military service. In order to pass the time, he and his comrade began carving objects out of old wooden posts – igniting an interest within Flørning. Though he managed his own factory for many years, he was forced to shut down his hands-on operation in 1965 due to the development of a dust allergy. In 2012 Lucie Kaas re-introduced Gunnar Flørning’s timeless designs for the contemporary home.

Schollert Collection Christian Schollert was a pioneering ceramicist within the functionalist approach to design that characterized the 1920’s and 30’s ceramics. He started his own factory in Nærum in 1932, and by the end of the same decade, Schollert started producing that wellknown streamlined, fluted ceramic. Before the outbreak of World War II, Christian was diligent to purchase enough raw materials to maintain a stable production that could match the demand for his designs. The distinctive ribbed shapes within Schollert’s works reflect a cleaner and more industrial look than what was the norm of the time. The re-launched iconic pieces are a modern interpretation where the form and function maintain the classic expression of Schollert’s original designs.

Skjøde Collection The Danish designer Theodor Skjøde Knudsen (1927-2007) had an uncanny talent for wooden handicrafts. Though exercised as a hobby in his spare time, the submission of his works to an exhibition at the Charlottenborg Art Museum in 1956 gave birth to a 20-year full-time dedication to the art. Due to the growing demand for his products, he opened his own factory in 1960 in Skjern leading to collaborations with Piet Hein as well as having his work requested by the Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. Th. Skjøde Knudsen was a versatile artisan where simplicity and quality are some of the key characteristics that describe his many designs. In collaboration with Skjøde’s family, Lucie Kaas has relaunched some of the classics within his large catalogue of designs.

Matee The Matee collection celebrates a 40-year old design tradition originating from Thailand. The collection is manufactured in a family-owned factory located north of the Thai capital Bangkok. The Matee patterns are family originals, which as they describe, are hand painted with the heart in mind. The hand-painted approach makes each canister unique. The different sizes and shapes make them usable for storage, as a vase or simply as a decorative item for the home. BELOW AND LEFT / MATEE CANISTERS

Sansto The essence of the Sansto vase lies within the special sandblasting technique used to transform its original smooth surface to a rough and matt finish. The pieces are mouth blown resulting in each piece having slight variations from one another. The vase’s dusty shades and distinctive shapes give a visual aesthetic that can hold its own with or without flowers.
