Christopher Collection is your go to destination for unique and exquisite antiques from all over the world. Our team of experienced designers scour the globe for the finest and most distinctive pieces to add to our collection, ensuring that each item is of the highest quality and has a story to tell. Our recent travels to the South of France and Italy have yielded a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind finds, ranging from trophies, prints, amd books, to breathtaking tapestries. With over 200 exceptional European antiques now in stock, we’re excited to offer the opportunity to own a piece of history.

Curating a Historic Treasure Trove

Every day abroad in search of unique antiques is an exhilarating adventure. Our mornings begin early, often before dawn, as we head to antique fairs in beautiful locations like Avignon, Provence, Marseille, Bordeaux, Paris, and Florence. By 8 a.m., we’re immersed in the bustling fairgrounds, racing through booths to find the most coveted items like Louis Philippe chests and commodes, especially those with bleached finishes or marble tops. The hunt is frantic and thrilling, the perfect start to our meticulously curated process.

Once we select our treasures, we take detailed descriptions, photos, and notes. After the morning rush, we take a well-deserved break, enjoying delightful local lunches before moving on to our next destination. Whether it’s a scenic two or three hour car ride or a train journey, we keep our energy up with simple pleasures like Cokes and candy. Evenings are spent savoring local cuisine and reflecting on the day’s finds, ready to repeat the adventure the following day.

My curation ethos is all about blending treasured antiques with contemporary pieces. Mixing things up is my passion! I believe more is more, and I love to collect and appreciate a variety of items. Certain pieces are investments, rich in history and value. I often sit in my home, admiring my antique collections, pondering their origins and the stories they hold.

In my designs, I’m drawn to natural wood, architectural elements with iron, and contemporary materials like acrylic. To add warmth and softness, I include throw blankets and cozy pillows,

creating a harmonious blend of old and new. Each piece contributes to the overall narrative and aesthetic of the space.

Among the many pieces we found, a few stand out as particularly special. A bleached sideboard that quickly found a new home, a Louis Philippe chest with charming feet, and a beautiful leather bucket rich with character and history are just a few examples. Sharing the stories behind these pieces with our customers is one of the most joyful and exciting parts of my work.

My passion for antiques began with a simple text from our talented product curator, Leigh Ann Harris, asking if I had a passport! That led to this European sourcing trip and rekindled memories of my childhood surrounded by antiques. My mother and grandmother, both avid antique collectors and store owners, instilled in me a deep appreciation for these items. Although I wasn’t particularly interested in antiques as a child, I now cherish every piece I’ve inherited, understanding their true value and significance.

In my design approach, I love incorporating large, unexpected pieces to bring dimension and warmth to a space. A standout example is a 19th century French terracotta chimney top placed on a Louis Philippe chest, creating a unique and character-filled focal point. I also use layering techniques, particularly with rugs, to add depth and texture. Mixing contemporary items with antiques results in a rich, eclectic feel.

My European treasure hunts can be summed up in three words: fabulous, beautiful, and memorable. My dedication to finding and curating exceptional antiques continues to inspire me and brings timeless charm to every space I touch.
