The construction of the Bulwell JSC is well underway. The photo above was taken from the top of a crane and shows the steel frames that form the structure of the north entrance to the building. The other image shows how the north entrance will look when it is completed. The next thing you will notice is the roof going on to the Sports Hall. There will be more photos in the next issue.

Bulwell JSC JSC Arts Projects Arts Projects There have been a number of arts projects over the last year; here’s an update on two of them.

The Hoardings Sometimes the hoardings that surround building sites can look a little boring so we decided to make the site in Bulwell a little more colourful! Nathan also worked with young people from Bulwell Academy to create designs Local artist Nathan Bainbridge worked with two local for their panels. This project was featured groups, the CRESTA Tenants and Residents Association in the evening post and Bulwell & Hucknall and the Bulwell Art Group to get inspiration for the Dispatch. Go and see for yourself and look historic panels. out for the cheeky squirrel!

OutOut-thethe-blue filmfilm-project A group of young people from Bulwell have been working with local filmmaker Tim Smith to create short films to demonstrate the progress of Bulwell JSC. They have just completed their 2nd film “The Site” which has been screened at Bulwell Academy. It was filmed on the site of the new JSC, scripted, acted, filmed and edited entirely by young people. Not only have the group had the opportunity to make a film but they have also used the

experience to achieve their Bronze Arts Award. The group have received funding from MediaBox to make another film based on the tale of Aladdin, starting very soon! If you would like to be involved in future films contact the Project Team on the number or email address below.
