Cycling Collection ARTISTS GUIDE - ORIGINALS

JUNE 2022

Cycling Collection A STUNNING NEW FOUR PIECE ART COLLECTION We have always been an active family and are often out on our bikes no matter the weather. Inhaling the fresh air makes me feel invigorated and wide awake. Whether we’re on a family ride along the winding country lanes or following a gravel path up a craggy fell, there’s nothing better than enjoying the sights and sounds of a bike ride. I wanted to add to my existing collection of cycling art by creating pieces that complimented the existing work but that also stood as unique pieces in their own right, pieces that were less focused on the destination and instead focused on the feeling and emotions of each ride. It was thinking back on the lovely memories I have of teaching my twins how to ride their bikes that inspired ‘Treasured Times’ as we had fun outdoors and would head out on family adventures. Now the children are older, the way we enjoy cycling has changed, it now involves more grit, determination and getting off the beaten track, and sometimes getting lost! ‘King of the Mountain’ was inspired by my husband as he’s often out ahead, taking the lead on the rugged gravel paths desperate to be the first to the top. No matter what type of cycling you enjoy there is a sense of pure freedom that comes from being on the open road. Whether it’s freewheeling from the top of the fells, leisurely taking in the scenery at the local park, or racing in search of a new personal best; or maybe you just want a cosy pub at the end of your ride, cycling is for everyone. I hope the collection inspires you to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer, and that it brings a smile to all those who view it.

Here, this couple are just head over heels with one another, enjoying being together, just the two of them.
