Lucy Pittaway is excited to release a new cycling collection, which celebrates the pinnacle event in international road cycling. To mark the Yorkshire 2019 UCI Road World Championships, which haven’t been held in Britain since 1982, Lucy has captured the true spirit of competing athletes, their determination, stamina, and the charming character of Yorkshire’s beautiful towns, which play host to races in the championships.

Inspired by the beautiful spa town on Harrogate and the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms, 2019 UCI Road World Championships, Yorkshire celebrates that one of Yorkshire’s most loved towns will be at the heart of the cycling universe, providing a finish line for the best cycling athletes from across the world. This artwork showcases Parliament Street, as the riders battle out the last half mile, racing towards the finish line as crowds watch excitedly from the side lines.

Going For Gold takes the race out of town and into the countryside, with vibrant riders set against sweeping hills and fields of golden yellow flowers, as a hot air balloon floats above, bearing the UCI Road World Championship stripes and the Y2019 logo!

Inspired by the power and speed of riders in the Time Trial Race, Race Against Time focuses on one rider, leaning into the bend, exerting every inch of mental and physical strength to win the race. The cyclist also sports the winning jersey of the UCI Road World Championships with its vibrant rainbow stripes.

In addition to hosting the championships, Yorkshire will also host the ‘Team Time Trial Mixed Relay’, the first ever of its kind in the championships, which will include both male and female riders as a drive to encourage gender equality within competitive cycling.
