West essex is a friendly, traditional club owned by the members and run for the members.

All profits are disclosed to members and reinvested with their guidance and approval ensuring that the course and clubhouse facilities are in the best possible condition all year round. Unlike many other clubs, we have retained the tradition of no tee time booking. Hence, at ‘The West’ members are able to turn up and play when they wish without having to reserve a tee time. There is currently a variety of membership categories to suit all ages and standards available at West Essex, with each representing excellent value for money. Our membership is incredibly broad in terms of age, golfing experience, cultural background and occupation. Whether you are male, female, young or old, new to golf, or a scratch player, everyone is welcome as a member. Our full memberships allow unlimited use of the course and the clubhouse, the opportunity to enter club competitions and the opportunity to maintain an official handicap. Similar intermediate membership opportunities exist for those aged between 18-35 and offer all the benefits of full membership but at a reduced subscription.

We recognise the future of our great game is in the hands of our junior golfers and we offer reduced membership rates to younger players. Beginner players will also find we represent an ideal choice, with excellent facilities and our talented PGA-qualified coach always on hand to offer instructions and support.

Chris runs the Pro Shop located at ‘The West’ where you will find a wide range of golf clubs, accessories and apparel; catering for all fashions, tastes and ages.
