AWPNSA we pride ourselves on being a world class sailing venue. We have a strong history of hosting National, European and World Championships in dinghy, windsurfing and keelboat events, as well as smaller class open events. The venue is capable of hosting more than 1,000 competitors at a time racing across a number of different disciplines. WPNSA is renowned within the sailing community for its accessibility to the distinguished sailing waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay and the excellent shore side facilities it provides. WPNSA represents an outstanding venue to host prestigious championships. t In 2020, WPNSA is pleased to be welcoming back many classes that regularly hold events such as the Toppers, 29ers, Lasers, Cadets and International Moths. In addition, there are many key events including the SB20 Nationals, GP14 Nationals, Laser Masters, Hansa Nationals and Fireball Nationals.

Included in the event programme for 2020 are two World Championships, both of which include their National events in the preceding week. Firstly, in August, there is the Zhik 29er World Championships, which is a youth racing class that feeds into the 49er and 49erFX Olympic Classes. This is followed in September, by the International Moth World Championship. This highly contested foiling event will bring top sailors here, some of which will have just competed in the Olympics at Tokyo. WPNSA is delighted to be hosting these two prestigious World Championships which will draw people from all over the World to enjoy the delights of Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coast.
