ABOUT LUGARDE For more than 35 years Lugarde has designed and produced summerhouses, log cabins, verandas, carports, wooden garages, gazebos and holiday homes. We offer a wide variety of designs and sizes. We are completely ﬂexible and are, in most cases able to design a building that suits your own individual ideas and requirements. We have a network of dealers across the UK where you can view our summerhouses and log cabins. Top quality Lugarde offers a top quality product for a fair price. Unlike a number of other summerhouse and log cabin companies we have our own manufacturing facility with in-house design and drawing departments. Our bespoke design service is competitively priced and varies little from the standard building pricing structure. Giving a high quality service is a high priority for us, it has and always will be part of our families ethos.

Quality wood Lugarde uses top quality pine that is grown in Northern European countries. Their climate being cold reduces the trees growth. The major advantage of this slow grown timber is that growth rings are closer together making the wood more stable and dense. All our wood is kiln dried in special drying rooms to approx 14-16% moisture content and as a result wood shrinkage and warping is reduced. Durability We ensure that all our wood suppliers are PEFC and FSC certified. It is part of our ethos to have our manufacturing process as environmentally friendly as possible and that all are products are as recyclable as possible. Within the manufacturing process we keep the waste wood and sawdust to a minimum coupled with this we also reuse waste wood and sawdust for other a variety of other purposes.

The walls of the Prima 3 = 1 system involve a system patented and developed by Lugarde, where the machined wall sections slot perfectly into the corresponding corner uprights. These corner uprights have a bonded slide in aluminium strip fitted. This system greatly enhances the strength and durability of your summerhouse. The Prima 3 = 1 system is an extremely stable construction that is easy to assemble with the walls fitting together without the need for nails or screws, this allows for any natural expansion of the wood

The Pro systems key feature are the robust and laminated 14 x 14 cm posts. The wall elements can easily slide into the grooves in these posts. This unique construction developed by Lugarde has an aluminium strip fitted inside the post ensuring a very sturdy construction with modern features. This simplifies and speeds up the assembly process. The Pro system offers a robust and modern look with many design variations and possibilities.

Foundation/ring beams

The foundation/ring beams are produced from pressure treated timber with aluminium corner fastening clips.

For posts fitted to canopies as an extension, adjustable metal feet are supplied to allow for the natural movement of the wood. For posts on a gazebo we supply fixed metal feet.

Roof trims Wide aluminium roof trims are included for all our flat roof buildings.

Pyramid roof finishers Most but not all buildings with a pyramid style roof are fitted with a metal cap and a finishing detail comprising of either a brass or chrome coloured ball, a weather vane or witch.

WINDOWS AND DOORS Double glazing* All windows and doors are fitted with high quality 24 mm thick sealed double glazed units, 4 mm glass +16 mm argon filled gap + 4 mm glass and has a 1.1 U-value rating.

Sealed with silicone All windows and doors are sealed with a silicone sealant to prevent water ingress.

The Georgian style crossbars have a modern appearance and attach with a unique and simple click in clip system. This is very handy when painting and when the glass needs cleaning.

Laminated construction All doors and windows are manufactured from laminated wood that is finger jointed to help prevent warping. The doors and windows are extremely robust and solid with a thickness of 56mm.

Adjustable hinges All hinges have 3 way adjustability. These split hinges allow the window to be adjusted either up or down, in or out and side to side giving the ultimate in fine adjustment.

Rubber draught excluders All windows and doors are fitted as standard with rubber draught excluders, they are also fitted with a removable red handy plastic covering that prevents paint stains on the rubber. (Red plastic covering not fitted to SD200 or SD300) www.lugarde.com 5 || www.lugarde.com 5

Over centre stays are fitted on all our top hung windows, this allows for a smaller opening than the conventional stay.

Inward opening tilt and turn mechanism The tilt and turn windows are very solid and have a high quality tilt and turn mechanism. This allows the window to either open fully inwards or changes the hinge position to the bottom of the window allowing the top of the window to open, normally for ventilation.

Door handles Sprung handle with a set of keys in a choice of chrome or brass colours.

Window handles and stays Windows are opened via a button with matching chrome or brass coloured window stays. We fit an espagnolette (a system that has locking points at the top and bottom of the window) style locking system to ensure the windows fully close along with the added benefit of secure dual locking points.

Ensuring that your log cabin or summerhouse fits in your garden? The sizes shown on the floor plan in the catalogue are always measured from the outside of the wall to the outside of the wall. This does NOT include the roof overhangs and this should always be added to find the complete size of your building and not just the footprint. The roof overhangs vary depending upon design and the exact size is shown in the catalogue next to the buildings picture. The sizes shown are the overhang each side so to get the overall size this figure needs to be doubled. Below is an explanation of the icons:

OPTIONS The options listed below are available from Lugarde for an additional charge with your log cabin or summerhouse.

Internal floor The internal floor is 19 mm thick pine with a tongue and grooved profile. The internal floor boards are supported on pressure treated beams. We would always recommend an internal floor in your summerhouse or log cabin.

Veranda floor All veranda floors (decking style) are made from Siberian larch wood (comparable to hardwood). This flooring is weatherproof and requires no maintenance or treatment.

Mezzanine floor and ladder The mezzanine floor consists of purlins fitting into the ring beam of your building and an internal ceiling using the same sturdy 19mm tongue and grooved floor boards. If you require additional space you can choose to raise the wall height of your log cabin and can change the standard pitch to 26 degrees or more. We can also supply a ladder to gain access to your mezzanine floor. (picture on left hand side of this page).

Decorative bases These decorative base/post covers are available in two heights of either 200mm or 800mm and cover the adjustable or fixed metal feet at the bottom of the post.

OTHER OPTIONS There are several other options available: • Adjusting roof pitch (for apex roofs); • Straight cut logs instead of diamond cut logs (for 44 mm log cabins); • Raising the height of the wall boards. All options can be found on our website and in our configurator.

GLASS SLIDING WALLS It is possible to install glass sliding walls in your log cabin, summerhouse or gazebo. These walls and mechanisms are manufactured and produced in Germany and consequently have the high quality associated with all German engineering.

Using your building as a home office, additional living room, man cave, gymnasium or residential building, having it insulated will give you the additional benefit of being able to utilise it all year round.

Floor insulation material consists of thermal boards 600mm x 1200mm x 40mm thick; The sheets can be fitted between the pressure treated floor beams; The floorboards are installed on top of the floor beams and insulation ensuring an air gap is left to avoid the possibilities of water transfer.

Roof insulation can be fitted for all roof types; Apex roofs insulation sheets are always installed on top of the roof boards and under the roof covering (shingles or EPDM); With a flat roofed building there is the possibility to install the insulation material to the underside of the roof by fitting an additional false ceiling; For insulation boards on top of the roof we supply special long felt nails. The fascia boards are also made deeper to allow for the insulation material. The roof insulation sheets are 600mm x 1200mm x 40mm thick; High performance rigid thermoset insulation sheets have the following properties: • Thermal conductivities as low as 0,027 W/m.K; • Compatible with most green roofing systems; • Resistant to the passage of water vapour; • Light and easy to handle and install; • Non corrosive or hazzardess material; • CE certified and has FM approval; • Polymer structured hard foam.

With this treatment your building is protected for a minimum of 5 years (subject to location and weather conditions). Should you wish to apply another coat on top of this then the paint manufacturer recommends a light sanding prior to applying an additional coat.
