New & Improved Siberian larchwood Siberian larch is a hard, dense wood species with a firm texture. The Siberian larch grows significantly slower than its European counterpart, this is because of the extreme cold climate where the larch trees grow. This makes the Siberian larch very durable. The natural durability class is comparable to hardwood. Larchwood can be left untreated above ground. Larchwood will turn grey during the years but can be treated with wood stain as normal. The discouloration has no effect on the life expectation of the wood.

Windows and doors made from Siberian Larch Lugarde now offers a selection of doors & windows in Siberian larchwood. Please refer to pages 74/75 to view the designs of doors & windows that are available in Larch. l

Balustrades, posts & veranda floors The balustrades, posts and veranda floors can be delivered as an option in larchwood.

l

Larch Weatherboards

We are also offering walls with the checked and chamfered profile. The wall boards are made from larchwood and are 22 mm thick. For more information see page 41.

Windows and doors Crossbars with our new click system. The crossbars now have a more modern appearance and attach with a simple click in clip system. This system has plastic pins which are milled into the crossbars. This allows the crossbars to be easily removed and attached. Very handy when painting and of course when you have to clean the glass.

All windows and doors are fitted with double glazing as standard! Large fixed windows Let in lots of light or frame a perfect view with our new large fixed windows. Available in 2 sizes: 34 x 193,5 cm and 153 x 100 cm.

Windows and doors painted in colour Lugarde already offers you the option to have your building pre-treated in one of 4 transparent stains. But new for this year you now have the option to have your doors and windows painted in a selection of transparent & opaque finishes too . For more information see pages 65 - 67.

Sunscreens Protection from the sun, wind & insects. Now available from Lugarde are these fantastic sunscreens, an ideal addition for a veranda or gazebo. A fully windproof system securely mounted in guide tracks and then automated with a built in motor and remote control. Available in 3 sizes: 180 cm, 240 cm and 300 cm. Delivered as standard with silver coloured guide tracks and a charcoal coloured transparent screen.

General information regarding standard models and creating your own garden building Standard models Standard models are delivered with the specifications as mentioned with the photo. You do have a choice between 5 colours of roof shingles (red, brown, blue, black or green) and a chrome/brass ball, weathervane or weatherwitch. Garden buildings are delivered untreated as standard. Standard models include a floor. If you wish to modify the specification of a standard model then you need to calculate the garden building using the numbered steps shown by the example photo’s. Adjusting a garden building or creating your own garden building. With every range you see a number of example photos of customers who created their own Lugarde garden building. With each photo we show which steps to follow to calculate the price. These steps correspond to our plan of steps in the price list. However, if you want to modify the garden building or create your own garden building, then you simply change the specification of the step/steps. Please note the size of your garden building does not include the roof overhang.

General information Premium quality North European pine Premium quality North European pine is the foundation of all Lugarde summerhouses, log cabins, gazebos and verandas. In these countries there are strict government regulations in place to ensure that more trees are planted than are chopped down, so that the ecological balance is maintained. Lugarde guarantees that it makes a point of choosing high-quality raw materials and accessories, delivered with expert treatment and handling. Lugarde allows the wood to dry to prevent the wood from moving as much as possible.

Insulating roof/floor Depending on the intended purpose of your Lugarde building, you may choose to have it fitted with roof and floor insulation. For a storage room then this is usually not necessary, but if you want to use your garden building as a guestroom or office, then insulation is advisable. Floor insulation with a thickness of 4 cm is simple to apply and therefore relatively cheap because the insulation is laid beneath the wooden floor. The roof insulation consists of insulation plates (likewise 4 cm thick), which are installed between the bitumen roof shingles and the roof boards using long clout headed nails (included).

Delivery always roadside All products from Lugarde are ALWAYS delivered roadside.

Packing/kit inspection All Lugarde products are packed in environmentally-friendly film that you may be able to re-use. We recommend that you inspect the contents of the kit within 8 days of receipt using the enclosed parts list, and notify your dealer or Lugarde immediately in the unlikely event that anything is missing or damaged.

Warranty and complaints procedure Lugarde grants a 5-year warranty on manufacturing or construction faults; damage caused by humans, animals or natural disasters does NOT fall under the warranty. Complaints as a result of a poorly laid foundation or faulty assembly, poor maintenance and/or the wrong maintenance materials do NOT fall under the warranty (see also maintenance).

Assembly Lugarde has a list of select independent assembly companies that can assemble your garden building for an extra charge and can also lay foundations or carry out any other necessary additional work. For further information, please contact the assembly company yourself. TIP! Please ensure that there is sufficient clearance (work space) around the summerhouse to facilitate assembly work and (re) treatment of the wood, amongst other things.

Preparing the foundations All garden buildings are delivered inclusive of pressure impregnated foundation beams. Any wooden flooring is also supplied with pressure impregnated floor joists. The laying of perfectly level foundations is the most important part of the preparation work for siting a garden structure. If the foundation is not laid correctly problems can occur later, for example, windows and doors may not function correctly and gaps may appear in the walls. Depending on the subsoil, remove earth to a depth of around 20 cm, fill in the hole with yellow sand, then compact and vibrate the entire area. Next lay a floor of tiles or concrete slabs or even a full concrete slab would be ideal, but once again the most important thing is to ensure that the entire area is perfectly level. The finished foundation must always be above ground level, and we recommend putting a layer of gravel all the way around the summerhouse to protect it from splashing (rain) water, in case of any doubts or queries about the subsoil, you can always call your dealer or Lugarde.

Planning permission/building regulations For all structures we advise that you check with your local authority to check if planning permission will be required.

Treatment and maintenance All structures are delivered untreated as standard. We have no control over the elements. Wind, rain and sun have free rein. To provide optimum protection for your garden building against the effects of the weather, you must treat the wood as quickly as possible – internally and externally. We recommend treating the wood first of all with impregnating agent after assembly. Then you can treat the garden building with a nontransparent or transparent paint, e.g. from Lugarde. Combining impregnating agent with paint provides the best results. Lugarde has developed an excellent system for this purpose together with a well-known paint manufacturer – a system that focuses on quality and care for the environment. Models of summerhouses, log cabins, gazebos, garages, carports and verandas, building systems, construction drawings, photos and/or text in this brochure or on our website must not be borrowed, reproduced or used in any way whatsoever, either in part or in full, without written consent from Lugarde. Prices, models and materials are subject to change. We accept no liability for printing errors. Lugarde® and the Prima 3=1 system are registered trade marks. You can order the paint directly with your Lugarde building! Lugarde recommends linseed oil containing paint. Why linseed oil containing paint? In our perkoleum products the resin cement is enriched with line oil supplement. Because of this it has a higher elasticity with a longer gloss retention and a better suture than just painting with a “normal” alkyd resin. Because of these properties Perkoleum is the most suitable product for finishing off Lugarde products. Additional advantage of Perkoleum is that it has less environmental impact and approx. 30% less turpentine then a “regular” alkyd resin paint.
