CORE IDEA design and construct a lightweight “second skin” elbow protector to prevent elbow hyperextension injuries utilising autodesk generative design
GENERATIVE DESIGN PROCESS autodesk generative design was used to create a structure that absorbs loads during accidents but is loose and comfortable enough to wear for elongated periods
PROTECTOR CONSTRUCTION hyperextension forces are absorbed by a laminated textile and all impacts are dissipated through a thin and flexible skidpad found at the elbow

ROTATIONAL SPINE PROTECTION
PRODUCT IDEA rotational forces are one of the lead causes of spinal cord injuries world wide and this is why we developed the rsp system using autodesk generative design to absorb impacts and decrease the likeliness of paraplegia
STRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT in order to design the passive structure of the rsp system, we looped our design concepts and test information into autodesk generative design to present us with alternative design concepts
RECOIL DEVELOPMENT we developed the recoil system as an active element, made to self-adjust and block rotations via a centrifugal clutch: designed in fusion360, tested in ansys and cnc machined molds
ANIMATION DESIGN keyshot 9 was used to render a full animation video of the recoil system in action for our clients pre-sales meetings

BAMBOO SKI POLES
DESIGN STORY the goal of this design project was to create a sustainable ski pole grip which displayed its origin, sustainability and material properties
HANDS-ON PROCESS this project required a real ‘hands-on’ approach to create sustainable ski pole grips that would be injection molded from recycled plastic buckets and containers in uganda
COVID-19 TRANSPARENT MASK
PRODUCT IDEA create a transparent mask to be used for the covid-19 pandemic and future airborn diseases that can be worn for multiple hours per day, allows the user to show emotion, read lips and see mouth movements
CUSTOM MASKS we were able to offer a custom edera mask product which was tailor-made to the users face thanks to 3d face scanning technology
PACKAGING DESIGN the packaging concept for the edera mask was designed and modelled in fusion 360 and rendered in keyshot, afterwards the first prototypes were produced by packit in upper austria

WEB DEVELOPMENT we designed the full edera mask website to include all instructions and cleaning guides, a webshop and custom mask section and a development timeline with press releases and updates edera-mask.com
FINAL PRODUCT we took it upon ourselves to produce and package the edera mask inhouse which meant 3d printing the frames, laser cutting the lenses and die cutting the ffp2 foam material

PROJECT BRIEF create a story board for a customer story for autodesk depicting the design story of the edera mask from the first idea to the final product using autodesk fusion 360, fusion teams and generative design

CONTENT CREATION we were tasked with filming and planning all content for the customer story, editing and sound design before handing the final product over to be promoted by autodesk

LUMEI ILLUSTRATIONS i design and draw illustrations for t-shirts and posters in my free time which are sold on online stores aswell as custom work for clients and friends, many of whom are social media content creators
HERMANNS SHAPING COMPANY i grew up surfing as a child and after moving to austria in 2008, i longed for an alternative which is why i began an internship at hermanns shaping company and we have been building boards together ever since
