A parte poche eccezioni, il libro è quasi privo di testo, in quanto vuole essere un viaggio attraverso la spiritualità, piuttosto che la storia; similmente questa raccolta di immagini non mira ad essere una guida esaustiva, quanto un assaggio per solleticare la vostra curiosità e indurvi a visitare i luoghi per respirare la loro atmosfera di persona.
Besides few exceptions, the book is devoid of text, as it wishes to be a spiritual, rather than an historical, journey; in a similar vein this collection is not meant to be an exhaustive guide, but something to tickle your curiosity enough to make you visit these places and breathe their atmosphere in person.

Sopra Dipinto ad olio di San Pietro (sopra a destra) e crocifisso attribuito a Donatello. Oltre a essere uno dei pochi crocifissi dove GesĂš appare nudo, si dice che il crocifisso sia stato oggetto di un miracolo: documents from 1543 riportano che il crocifisso ha emesso sudore per diverse ore consecutive.

Beside being one of the few crucifex where Jesus appears naked, it is said that the crucifix was the object of a miracle: documents from 1543 report that the artwork emitted sweat for several consecutive hours.

Nella Pagina Precedente La Chiesa del Torresino è stata recentemente oggetto di importanti restauri. L’altare ottaedrico è stato progettato ex novo dall’architetto contemporaneo Scarpa. Ha la particolarità di essere posizionato al centro della chiesa, invece che all’estremità di una navata, che lo rende una combinazione unica di stile architettonico antico e moderno.
On the Previous Page The ‘Chiesa del Torresino’ underwent an extensive renewal. The octahedral altar was newly designed and built by contemporary architect Scarpa and is the only altar which is at the center of the church rather than at the end of a nave, which makes it an interesting combination of old and new architectural styles.

Above and on the Previous Page Details of the recently renovated frescos of the chapel of San Prosdocimo, possibly the oldest sign of christian presence in Padova. The original structure of the chapel, which was at later stages engulphed by the basilica of Santa Giustina, is said to date back to the 6th century AC.
L’oratorio di San Gregorio ospita regolarmente mostre di arte moderna, spesso gratuite, curate dal comune di Padova in una cornice fatta di affreschi del 16/17 secolo, creando una combinazione unica di arte moderna e antica.
The oratory of San Gregorio regularly hosts (offen free) exhibitions of modern art curated by Padova’s city council; the exhibitions are framed by the 16/17th century frescos which completely cover the walls of the building, creating a unique combination of modern and anqitue art.
