General The symbol/logotype consists of the Bosch armature symbol and the Bosch logotype. When reproduced in the specified size and spacing proportions, the symbol/logotype form an entity that represents the Bosch company. The symbol/logotype may only be used in the specified proportions. Please use only the master files provided in the CD Extranet.

▶▶ Symbol and logotype form a unit. Exceptions to this rule only apply to product identification and packaging. Please refer to the relevant styleguide for more details. Symbol

Versions To ensure a consistent corporate design, the 4-color ­version of the Bosch symbol/logotype should be used whenever possible. A grayscale version is availabe for black and white applications. 4 C (4-color) and 2 C (black and red)

Symbol/Logotype with Slogan – Standard Position The slogan “Invented for life” is used in advertising ­communications in combination with the symbol/logotype (cf. Applications page 16). The standard position of the slogan is below the symbol/

Exception For Bosch Car Service workshops, the BCS trademark is used as illustrated. The symbol is separated from the logotype by the word “Service”; all elements are arranged below one another. The trademark was confirmed in 2008 in an extensive market research study among the target groups of workshop owners and final customers. If a future CD alignment is planned, the combined symbol/logotype must in this case be given consideration. Overview Bosch Sans and Bosch Serif are unique corporate typefaces which were designed exclusively for Bosch. The interrelated weights meet all the requirements of modern typefaces used in analog and digital environments. Bosch Sans is generally used for headlines and short texts. Bosch Sans Condensed is used where there is not much space. Bosch Serif is available for long, contiguous reading texts. For electronic presentations in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Bosch Office Sans was developed. It is available for all European languages with the exception of the Greek and Cyrillic alphabets.

▶▶ Bosch Sans is used for shorter running texts, headlines and subheadings. ▶▶ Bosch Sans Condensed is used for example for tables, catalogs and product cards. ▶▶ Bosch Serif is used for long, contiguous reading texts

Technology and Life Technology by people and technology for people are the central themes portrayed in Bosch photography. These motifs are interpreted in different ways by all Bosch divisions and characterize the Bosch Corporate Design. The typical Bosch imagery style conveys authenticity as a result of very natural and integrated style. The images are mainly bright and friendly, and light control is natural. The impression of authenticity is supported by contrast between focus/out of focus and a strong perception of depth. The color appeal is natural and characterized by a high white component. Interesting perspectives can give images an additional dynamic impression.

▶▶ Artificially illuminated or colored environments and backgrounds do not correspond to the Bosch imagery style.

Layout Grid The design grid always starts

A layout grid formats the layout area of all print media –
