WE CAN BE YOUR PROJECT PARTNER NOUS POUVONS ÊTRE VOTRE PARTENAIRE DE PROJET Multiple architecture light projects have accompanied us along our way: institutional buildings, urban spaces, landscaping, as well as historical, sports and shopping centres, all designed by architects, urban planners, landscape and lighting designers with which, in many cases, Platek has worked in the role of project partners. The Pont de la Matte, in SaintNazaire, France, the architectural heritage of Strasbourg in Alsace and the church of Brugnolo in Reggio Emilia in Italy are some examples.

We bring together the experience and skills required to become a partner worthy of consideration. As part of the Donati and Metalpres group, Platek is involved in the design, engineering and production of tools for lighting, offering advice through which projects are able to materialize, both its own ones and of external parties, into prototypes, materials and 3D graphics. We have been acknowledges for the flexibility of our design methodologies, high formal qualification of products, constant commitment to service excellence and respect for the environment.

Dans le cadre de nos activités, nous avons travaillé en partenariat sur de nombreux projets dans le domaine de l’éclairage architectural (édifices institutionnels, espaces urbains, espaces paysagers, centres historiques, sportifs et commerciaux). Autant de projets conçus à la base par des architectes, des urbanistes, des paysagistes et des éclairagistes, et auxquels Platek a apporté sa collaboration en qualité de partenaire de projet. Le Pont de la Matte, à Saint-Nazaire en France, le Patrimoine architectural de Strasbourg en Alsace, et l’église de Brugnolo en EmilieRomagne (Italie), en sont quelques exemples.

Compte tenu de nos expériences et de nos compétences réunies, nous sommes devenus un partenaire digne de considération. Platek fait partie du groupe Donati et Metalpres. A ce titre, son activité s’organise autour du design, de l’ingénierie ainsi que de la production d’appareils d’éclairage. Architecture and light are two concepts that go hand in hand. Le Corbusier believed that architecture was the exact wise and magnificent effect of volumes under the light, Gaudí spoke of the meeting of light with the shape while Meier suggested that, in any creative expression, light had always been a source of ecstasy and inspiration. From the architectural point of view, space wouldn’t be the same in the absence of light. When natural light fades, space and shapes cease to exist if it wasn’t for another kind of magic able to revive the architecture. artificial light. Artificial light solves the dematerialisation of spaces and shapes that is created from the absence of natural light, but it can also give value to them and to the objects contained in them, enhancing all the details even those hidden in the daylight.

L’architecture et la lumière sont deux concepts qui vont toujours de pair. Le Corbusier soutenait que l’architecture était le jeu savant, correct et magnifique des volumes sous la lumière. Gaudi parlait d’interaction entre la lumière et la matière. Meier, pour sa part, pensait que dans toute expression créative, la lumière a toujours été une source d’extase et d’inspiration. Du point de vue architectural, il n’y a pas d’espace sans lumière. Dès que la lumière naturelle diminue, l’espace et les formes disparaissent. Seule une autre forme de magie permet d’éviter cela et de redonner vie à l’architecture : c’est la lumière artificielle. En effet, la lumière artificielle, en plus de résoudre ce problème de dématérialisation des espaces et des formes lié à l’absence de lumière naturelle, permet également de mettre en valeur ces espaces et les objets qui les composent en révélant des détails cachés que l’on ne pourrait apercevoir même en lumière naturelle.

Our job consists in designing and producing lighting tools for outdoor spaces, offer intelligent aesthetic and technical solutions being involved in the architect’s and lighting designer’s project. Notre activité repose sur le développement et la fabrication d’appareils d’éclairage conçus pour l’extérieur et les espaces urbains. COLLABORATION: ILLUMINATION.

ADDING TALENT: THE KEY OF THE NEW PLATEK ERA.

If we can not affect daylight colours, artificial lighting instead allows us to design environments and generate emotions by changing the appearance of objects and space, highlighting or hiding, colouring, shading or emphasizing the most significant features of the architectures to which it is applied. Although architectural lighting design is still a rather unexplored field, some designers, architects and urban planners have begun to appreciate the artistic and emotional potential that artificial light has, applying it to their projects in a more creative way. In Platek we give value to the infinite capacity of these professionals to converge new visions and reflections on light. Exactly for this reason, in this new era, we focus in adding talent and strengthening the shared creative participation necessary in a so fascinating and little explored universe such as the one that concerns us. First of all we are involved in collaborating with new product designers; we love signature design and we join those creative talents with a special sensitivity to conceive suitable instruments for lighting that, in addition to being perfectly functional, are capable of transmitting something and giving emotions. We love working with

different designers, because each of them approaches the creative process in a different way: someone plays with light and someone interacts with it, and there is even someone who tries to tame it... Conferring identity and grace to a lighting object: this is what we promote, because as producers we can afford it. Yes, at Platek we are also producers: we belong to the Donati Group and to its parent company Metalpres, specialized in die cast aluminium and supplier of dies for the production of lighting fixtures and accessories, both designed and manufactured in Rodengo Saiano, a small town in the province of Brescia, where the company and the group are based. Today Platek takes a step forward in the context of shared participation. Today, our objectives are more than ever turned to the creative collaboration with designers, architects, planners, engineers, landscape architects and lighting designers, bringing together the experience and skills necessary to become a project partner worthy of consideration.

COLLABORATION: ÉCLAIRAGE.

LE TALENT AJOUTÉ OU LA CLEF DE LA NOUVELLE ÈRE PLATEK.

Nous ne pouvons pas influer sur les couleurs de la lumière du jour. En revanche, l’éclairage artificiel nous permet de créer des environnements et de générer des émotions grâce aux variations qu’il permet de réaliser sur les objets et sur l’espace. Nous pouvons ainsi modifier l’aspect des objets et de l’espace en mettant en relief, en dissimulant, en soulignant ou encore en révélant ou en adoucissant les couleurs des principaux éléments d’architecture que nous éclairons. Bien que le design en matière d’éclairage architectural en soit encore à ses débuts, certains designers, architectes et urbanistes commencent à prendre en compte le potentiel artistique et émotionnel de la lumière artificielle et à l’intégrer dans leurs projets en faisant preuve d’une remarquable créativité. Chez Platek, nous valorisons les talents illimités de ces professionnels afin de considérer la lumière sous un angle nouveau et proposer à cet égard de nouvelles approches. C’est pourquoi, afin d’entamer cette nouvelle ère, nous misons donc tout naturellement sur le talent et sur une collaboration créative renforcée, éléments indispensables dans cet univers si fascinant et peu exploré qui est le nôtre. Nous collaborons avant tout avec les nouveaux concepteurs de produits. Chez Platek, nous avons une attirance particulière pour le design reconnu. Nous coopérons avec des créateurs dotés d’une sensibilité spécifique nécessaire à

la conception des appareils d’éclairage. C’est dans ce cadre uniquement que nous sommes à même de développer des éclairages parfaitement fonctionnels et capables de transmettre des émotions ou des impressions. Nous tenons à cette collaboration avec différents designers, car chacun d’eux a son approche spécifique du processus créatif. En effet, certains aiment jouer avec la lumière, d’autres recherchent plutôt le « dialogue», d’autres encore tentent de la maîtriser… Notre objectif : donner à un objet lumineux à la fois élégance et identité, car en qualité de fabricants, nous pouvons nous le permettre. Oui, chez Platek, nous sommes aussi fabricant. Nous appartenons au Groupe Donati et à la maison-mère Metalpres, une entreprise spécialisée dans l’aluminium moulé sous pression et qui fournit des matrices pour la fabrication de systèmes d’éclairages et d’accessoires, conçus et fabriqués à Rodengo Saiano, dans la province de Brescia, où l’entreprise et le groupe ont leur siège. Aujourd’hui, Platek fait un nouveau pas en avant dans le cadre de cette coopération. Aujourd’hui plus que jamais, nous nous orientons vers une coopération créative avec des designers, architectes, urbanistes, ingénieurs, paysagistes et éclairagistes, afin de regrouper les expériences et les compétences indispensables et devenir ainsi un véritable partenaire de projet.

Body made of extruded, corrosion resistant, aluminium alloy. A4 stainless steel screws. 2mm thick, Anti UV, opal, polycarbonate diffuser. High luminous efficacy internal reflector. Protection with anodizing treatment, epoxy powder base coating and polyester painting. Integrated power supply unit. Product supplied with 5m cable. Gore valve to prevent condensation inside the product. Antiscratch silicone support system. The product, due to its hexagonal shape, can be rotated 360° every 60°, directing the light as desired.

Corps en aluminium extrudé résistant à la corrosion. Vis en acier inoxydable A4. Diffuseur en polycarbonate opalisé anti-UV 2 mm d’épaisseur, réflecteur interne à haut rendement lumineux. Protection de l’ensemble par traitement d’iridite avec primaire aux poudres époxy et peinture polyester. Alimentation intégrée Appareil livré avec 5m de câble. Valve en GoreTex évitant la formation de condensation à l’intérieur du produit. Patins d’appui anti-rayures en caoutchouc. Grâce à sa forme hexagonale le produit, peut être pivoté de 360° par pas de 60°, en orientant ainsi la lumière sur la surface désirée.

We have thought of a synthesis product between technique and design. The result is a compact and intuitive polyhedral element in its shape and use. Different light and atmosphere projections are obtained changing the support base. Suitable for fixing effect lights and ground-level light in indoor and outdoor environments, for permanent and temporary installations. Nous avons imaginé un produit synthétisant technique et design. Le résultat est un élément polyédrique dans sa forme et son utilisation, compact et intuitif. On tourne le produit en changant sa base d’appui on obtient ainsi des projections de lumière différentes et on modife l’ambiance à loisir. Indiqué pour donner à la lumière un effet rasant à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, pour des installations fixes ou temporaires.
