Project 1 Silent Dust When I drove past this road, I was deeply impressed because dust rising from the passing truck next to me was like sandstorm covered my sights. However, what shocked me the most on this dusty road are plants by it. The plants’ leaves and branches are covered with pale white dust, like they were born this way but not lively green. While in my shooting process, I was even more shocked and broken hearted to witness domestic wastes poured everywhere on this road over the years then merged with environment besides dust. I experimented to record these facts in an acceptable. I try to through this project to investigate what human beings behavior influences the environment among them.

Project 2 Torch Festival
Torch Festival is an annual traditional festival for a Chinese minority group - Yi, who mostly live in southwest China. This festival is to express Yi people’s awe of life. So my project is based on the reactions of the audience on the Torch Festival. I observed with the camera and shot their facial expressions which could reveal the audience’s mental activity. I tried to use the portraits to highlight audience’s emotional expression in the dark environment. Discovering human being’s attitude to nature and live throughout a thousand-year tradition festival which is the inspiration for this project.

Project 3 Developing Even Ansel Adams had to build up a platform on his car top to shoot from a higher angle. Thanks to the development of technology, the advent of drones comprehensive people’s perspectives. Drones provide photographers chance to shoot from a vertical angle, therefore, expand more possibilities for their expressions. Thus, in this project, I tried to shoot with DJI drones instead of digital cameras. This project is not only a challenge for me to be creative in artistic production, but also a way to express my thought of the way photography has developed over time.

Project 4 Blue Casa Milà When we talk about depression, we regard it as the antonym of happiness, vitality, and passion. This project is based on a subjective view of the world seen by people with primary depression. The is was a review of my mental status change during that dark period, which is presented by photos taken at the Barcelona’s Casa Milà one year ago. The unique angle of these photos is first-person view that glimpse the sunny world from the narrow windows inside buildings. I set the photo’s predominant color to blue, then utilized classic technology— cyanotype as well. Under the sunshine and shadows, trying to use the photos present the conversation happened between me and the inner “me”.

Project 5 Unable to Return
The project’s main inspiration is from my pity that I could not always solve the Rubik’s Cube and bring it back to original shape, which also reminds me of wild animals being killed by people. Simultaneously, red background and parts of the animals’ bodies shown in the mirror implies that humans selfish have already plundered and hurt these animals. The narrative is formed when I put these three elements together. It reflects the project’s theme that human being could not eliminate the harms they have done to animals.
