ATTACHÉ INTERVIEW Amy Dadi Amy Dadi is a star Attaché who spends her days based onsite at the largest private real estate development in American History, Hudson Yards. Amy took a few minutes out of her busy schedule to share some of her expert Attaché insight for Spring/Summer 2017.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in NYC? I was born in NYC and grew up in Forest Hills, Queens until age 12. I moved to Israel for over half a year and then went to High School in Great Neck, Long Island. I went to Syracuse University- so I’ve pretty much been a New Yorker all my life. I’ve lived in NYC for 4 years now.
Something you wish people requested more often? My help with coordinating marriage proposals! My colleagues have coordinated so many perfect engagement experiences, and I am yet to be tasked with this request! I’ve done my fair share of engagement parties, weddings, bridal showers and Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, but I would love to help with a magical engagement.
How long have you been at Hudson Yards? I’ve been onsite at Hudson Yards for about 7 months. The first commercial building at Hudson Yards (10 Hudson Yards) was up and running in the Summer of 2016 and the Hudson Yards Experience Center launched in September 2016. I have been there adding value to the development since the beginning. It’s so exciting to see how much everything had progressed in such a short period of time!
Best insider tip: I love being able to share insider tips with clients, friends and family… Whether it’s the location of a secret speakeasy, a private restaurant or hidden room. I love recommending the Pink Lady Room (tiny, private, hidden room) at Bell Book and Candle to my clients for romantic dinners and intimate, special occasions, like Valentine’s Day. They have a lovely rooftop garden as well.
What does the word Attaché mean to you? To me, the word Attaché means “Expert.” An expert in all things pertaining to luxury; Someone that is “in the know” before anybody else; Someone who is a “tastemaker” and able to curate special experiences based on a client’s specific needs. What is your favorite NYC neighborhood? I love the cobblestone streets of the West Village that are lined with some of my favorite shopping and dining. I live on the East Side and spend a lot of time in the East Village. I like that Bowery and it’s surrounding parts have not been completely gentrified, and you can still find unique, funky stores that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. I think that Hudson Yards is the most exciting, innovative new neighborhood in New York City- from culture and wellness to shopping and dining, everything is so well-curated and convenient. Your NYC moment? Meeting Jean Georges outside of Jean Georges, and working at the Private Suites at MSG and being able to keep my composure when meeting celebrities like Cuba Gooding Jr. and 50 Cent. Favorite place for an after-work drink? I love to walk down the High Line after work and head to the bar at La Sirena for an Aperol Spritz, or sit at the bar at L’Artusi and enjoy a Negroni before having dinner there. Craziest request? Coordinating a Supermodel’s move while she was in Paris for Fashion Week. I had movers completely pack up her apartment and move her partially to the city and partially to the Hamptons- all seamlessly while she was halfway across the world. I also worked on a client event where I had to fly down to Miami to coordinate the event at the Versace Mansion to promote Lionel Richie’s homeware line. Then I got to sit at a table with Lionel Richie at dinner!
What are you most excited for this spring? I’m most excited for all of the Spring restaurant openings, and to be able to eat and drink outdoors at my favorites, like Bar Pitti and Mr. Purple. In May I’m heading to Napa for BottleRock, a music festival with impressive food and wine vendors participating- I can’t wait! Favorite event venues: I love the private rooms at Lafayette and Locanda Verde. I recently attended a surprise party at Lafayette and the food, drink, and service were impeccable. The event felt intimate, even though we had so much space to move around and interact with everyone in the large group. How to engage clients: I love to meet prospective buyers or purchasers when they visit the Hudson Yards Experience Center. They learn all about the restaurants, shops, and culture that will be in Hudson Yards, and that I will be their point person for activating benefits in each of these areas. Clients really feel that it’s a privilege to be able to utilize my services from the moment they purchase. I’ve done everything from planning full family itineraries to curating a private off-site event with Per Se. How do our service adds value to a property? Aside from engaging with clients and amenity programming, the other way that I feel our service adds value to the property is through event planning, as we host many events in the Experience Center. I coordinate everything from the catering, staffing and rentals to the florals, giveaways and speakers. I’m able to hand select vendors from our portfolio that provide our clients with exclusive benefits and privileges, as well as develop a Perks Program for Hudson Yards Purchasers specifically.
