Why is it important to have a designer involved in the architectural phase of building? I feel strongly that the most expensive mistakes you make when building are in the architectural phase. These are the types of mistakes that are hard to rectify if not impossible, without massive renovation. By having a designer in the process early on expensive needless mistakes can be avoided. The designer then becomes an asset to both the client, but also the builder, as they are able to communicate the end vision and help execute in a streamlined manner. What makes your firm unique? We are a dynamic team where almost everyone comes from different industries. I spent the first few years in my twenties in San Francisco in medical sales. Those years taught me countless things about business and how to run one. This is why I chose early on to become a full design studio. After countless years, we now carry hundreds of furniture lines, offering our clients a curated quality product. Additionally, I coach all of the team to do all things with intention. Think about every surface, every light, every function of the home. Intentional design is what truly sets us apart. If it can be done better - seek it out, do that. What do you love most about working with clients? The ability to make their space the perfect home for them. It may be a living room overhaul or designing alongside their architect from the very start. I really do this for the joy of giving “home” to our clients. I give so much of myself to each project mentally and creatively. If I do my job well - the homeowner is left thinking it’s an easy and fun industry.
