Realtors are pivoting away from open houses towards virtual showings, social media advertising and other creative means to connect buyers with suitable properties. Likewise, lenders, title companies and attorneys continue to close real estate transactions through DocuSign and electronic notarization and recording. New technologies are rapidly being adopted to account for social distancing while making transactions safe and convenient. It is also important to know that financial markets continue moving during this time. Unlike the banking crisis of 2008, the CARES Act and other forthcoming COVID-19 related laws are proactively designed to keep funds flowing and minimize loan and lease defaults. In the CARES Act, Congress implemented a host of programs for small business owners and employees, the transportation industry, and state and local governments impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, if you own a small business, you’ll want to explore the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to help you retain employees. From Shark Bites to Healthy Return Home THE SPIRIT OF JUNO BEACH, FLORIDA lies with its beloved Loggerhead sea turtles. Little is more pure than the joy of releasing a rehabilitated turtle back into the great Atlantic deep. Following her rehabilitation with Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC), Jane was recently released back into the ocean. She was found with life threatening shark bites and required extensive rehab. Jane was sponsored by The Royal Poinciana Plaza on Palm Beach and named in honor of Lillian Jane Volk, who sought to preserve the architecture and historic integrity of Palm Beach Island, including the idyllic charm of The Royal Poinciana. Jane’s name and partnership represent the shared values with the plaza and LMC’s surrounding women empowerment.

While LMC forges ahead with a huge expansion project, they have been given special permissions to continue their efforts to support, monitor, and survey the 9.5 mile stretch of beach that is home to one of the most densely populated sea turtle nesting beaches in the world. Meaning LMC’s data and studies can continue to help change the trajectory for threatened and endangered sea turtles. Working tirelessly to maintain its mission amid the current Covid-19 challenges, Loggerhead Marinelife Center has rolled out a Virtual Coastal Classroom while temporarily closed. Students of any age can now learn at home, while LMC educators present engaging sea turtle and ocean conservation topics each day on Facebook Live (Monday – Friday, 2 PM and Saturday – Sunday, 11 AM EST).
