Phyllis Browning Company Where are you from and how long have you lived in San Antonio?
Tell us one thing that not many people know about you?
I grew up in Dallas, but I’ve called San Antonio home since 2003. San Antonio is such a beautiful, vibrant, and authentic city that’s growing in a positive way. My wife, Kathryn, and I love raising our kids, Alex (17) and Sasha (15), here.
I worked in public relations for Ted Turner’s pro wrestling company, WCW, at the height of its popularity. Flying across the continent for our weekly “Nitro” show, I learned many lessons in promotion and dealing with different personalities like Hulk Hogan, Rick Flair and Goldberg.
Why Real Estate? My Mom was a Realtor and my Dad is a real estate attorney so it’s not a big surprise that I’ve found a way to combine some of both. I am an attorney but I never wanted to practice. Instead, this career is a perfect fit for my negotiation, marketing and problem solving skills.
What trait do you think helps you the most in Real Estate? Honesty. This is a career where the more you tell the truth the better you do. I expect that’s opposite of what many people think.
Who has been your biggest influence on your career to this point? My parents plus my high school baseball and basketball coaches. They wouldn’t let me give up when times were tough. Phyllis Browning and Judy Dalrymple were so gracious and giving of their time when I was a newcomer to the business and the city nearly 20 years ago. They taught me how to handle different, sometimes stressful, situations with grace. I was extremely fortunate to have the counsel of legends in our business.

Did you change how you worked in 2020?
Yes, I’ve wanted to have a larger real estate team for years and in 2020 I formed Jason Glast Group. My model was to hire well-educated, energetic, ethical people and help them reach their goals while supporting my dynamic business. Basically, I wanted to align with first-class, positive people.
