MEADOWLANDS PREINVESTIGATION Team Project Team Member: Leah Grossman, Kyle Gename Site: Meadowlands, New Jersey Time: 2018 Spring Instructors: Leena Cho, Alex Wall It is a half-semester investigation project which is prepared for post design section. Meadowlands is one of the biggest wetland system in NJ, hignly polluted by landfills, contaminated sites and sewer outflow. At the same time, the key species here, phragmites, covered more than half waterfront area. Under the risk of sea level rise, we are ask to find out problems, potentials and possibilities.

HONG KONG CITY STUDY FOR RICHMOND DESIGN Before starting design with Richmond city, we spent half of the spring semester on doing each one's city study, which the result and conclusion learning from these cities could be applied on further design. From investigating HK city, I found several interesting phenomenon which is about how super-skyscaper cooperate with dramatically steep slope and how such a small area fits with such numorous residents. Here are diagrams and mapping recording my analysis and conclusions.

Mapping which reveals the relationship between topography and how Hong Kong City formed through time.

CENTRIC WATER PURIFYING STRUCTURE

Above the animal channel, the material of boardwalk changes into stainless steel wire so that visitors could observe animals’ movements.

There are several animal channels seperating at a certain distance for animals’ movement.

Under the boardwalk is water storage system. Walking on the boardwalk visitors could see how this system works.

About the channel: In spring, summer and autumn, the boardwalk with the channel have kept storing melting water and rain water. When winter comes, the device turns these water into snow and blow them out.
