Tynemouth & South Shields A weekend of world-class street entertainment, live music and special performances on both sides of the River Tyne
welcome Linda Arkley North Tyneside Elected Mayor
We’re delighted to welcome you to the seventh Mouth of the Tyne Festival. The River Tyne unites North and South Tyneside in so many ways - it is an important driver of our economy and business, it is a focus for regeneration and it is a key part of the heritage of the communities on both of its banks. The Mouth of the Tyne Festival is a celebration of the world class culture that both boroughs support. It is set against the backdrop of a fantastic coastal area that attracts visitors from near and far. Its focus is on entertainment for the whole family - street theatre, comedy, live music and special one-off performances - for local residents, for visitors, for young and old. We hope you enjoy all that’s on offer over the four-day programme.
Cllr Iain Malcolm Leader of South Tyneside Council
And we would both like to extend a warm invitation to everyone to visit North and South Tyneside again very soon. Mrs Linda Arkley, North Tyneside Elected Mayor Cllr Iain Malcolm Leader of South Tyneside Council
