The company was originally named after the daughter of our co-founders, Stephen and Ellen Bremner, and their sons Gavin and Scott are now joint managing directors. We've always viewed our customers as being part of the Ashley Ann family, and from that we have built our entire ethos around customer care.

For as long as I can remember I've been interested in design. No idea where it came from, as there's certainly no family influenceeveryone else is a teacher! From an early age, though, I would dream up new layouts for the bedroom I shared with my sister. We'd work together to put my plans into action, but soon enough I'd be dreaming up an even better layout and the whole process would begin again.
With so much practice from an early age, it's no surprise that I wanted to take things further, and I went on to continue my passion by studying Interior and Spatial Design at university. That soon led to a career in the industry, and it's hard to believe I've been working in my dream job for nearly a decade.
I couldn't be happier than where I am now, working with my team to generate new ideas and create something beautiful and unique for each of our customers.

I’ve been involved in the kitchen industry for most of my career. I’ve always had a good eye for colours and textures, and I was lucky enough to be able to develop this into a love of design while serving my time as a painter and decorator. I knew this wouldn’t be my final career choice though, as I used to end up with more paint on myself than on the walls.
After a few years in the industry I was able to progress to a role where my love of design could really flourish. I know it might not be most people’s idea of excitement, but I get a real thrill from designing kitchens and bathrooms, seeing everything come together from a first draft to a completed room. I particularly enjoy working through the little details with customers, from door styles to those colour highlights that can finish a room perfectly.
It’s been great to share that love with my family as well. When we recently redesigned the kitchen and bathrooms in my own house I made sure everyone in the family was involved, and it was great to see the enjoyment everyone got from taking the whole project from start to finish.
That’s the same process we go through here at Ashley Ann, Stirling. From the very first enquiry through to the finishing touches, we work as one big family to help and assist our customers every step of the way.

Growing up in Caithness I’ve always been intrigued by the many wonderful but run down buildings scattered around the countryside, and used to dream about how I could make them into something beautiful and new. I’ve always been very creative, and from building my first playhouse with my mum and dad to helping them on various renovation projects, I came to love interior design work.
I moved to Edinburgh at 18 to pursue my dream and qualified in 2003 as an Interior, Architectural and Spatial Designer. After nine years working in the industry I relocated back to Caithness and in 2018 I joined Ashley Ann. Managing the Thurso showroom is ideal for me, allowing me to apply my passion and love for design and work every day with a great team. It’s even become something of a family affair, with my two older sons working in the factory during their summer breaks from university.
Even my leisure time these days is taken up with design, as my partner and I share the same drive and joy in hands-on work. When we’re not spending our time decorating, landscaping or building something, our new baby boy keeps us busy.
Life can get a bit hectic sometimes, but I thrive on challenge and can’t imagine it being any other way.

Although my focus hasn’t always been on design, I’ve been working in the interiors industry since I left school. I got my start labouring with my dad laying floors, and worked my way up from there to looking after nationwide floor covering contracts.
I always thought my career path was set for life, but on the spur of the moment in 2007 I decided to move from West Yorkshire to the north of Scotland. It was certainly a fortuitous move, as it gave me my first experience working with Ashley Ann as part of the Head Office team. That was a fantastic introduction to the company, and when the chance came to move to Inverness to head up the team here it seemed a perfect fit.
I’m a keen cyclist and living in the area gives me plenty of opportunity to get out into the surrounding countryside. When I’m not whipping around forest trails on my mountain bike, I’m whipping up my latest culinary creation in the kitchen. I can’t imagine a better way to spend time with my family, and they certainly claim to enjoy my cooking – although they might just be being kind.
Since my move here in 2015 I’ve enjoyed every moment of my time as Showroom Manager. Family is the most important thing to me and I know just how much it means to have every detail of your home just right.

My passion for design and customer service starts with my family, as my first experience in the industry was in the family-owned kitchen business. That experience showed me just how much I enjoy working with people to design their dream kitchens. Even after my father took the decision to close the family firm I wanted to stay in the industry and keep working with customers. When the opportunity came up to work with Ashley Ann, I knew it was right. Family is so important to me, and working for Ashley Ann I know I’m part of a company that shares those values. When I’m not at work I love travelling with my husband and my two wonderful girls. In the rare moments I get to myself, I like to keep busy, and when I’m not pottering about in the garden I’m often out and about enjoying some hill walking. I only started this recently but I’ve already bagged a few Munros, and am building up to tackle Ben Nevis.
Every day as manager of the Glasgow showroom brings new challenges, and I love it. I’ve had the opportunity to build a team of like-minded people around me and I always know that, working together, we can help our customers to build beautiful, unique kitchens that are perfectly suited for them.
