Our HQ is nestled away in the Essex countryside and, from our professional office team to our workshop engineers, we produce timeless bathroom products to last a lifetime. It has never been more important to create a personal space to relax, as well as invigorate, and that is why every bath, basin, cabinet and tap that we create is made with you in mind. Over the last 22 years, we have expanded our range of freestanding baths to include both compact and spacious designs in luxury materials such as hand worked Copper (Page 4) and our exclusive Cian® solid-surfacing (Page 48). Our brand-new painting workshop allows us to add a splash of colour to any roll top bath (page 46) in our range and all our Victrion brassware (page 125) is plated to order in the UK. 2022/2023 sees us expand our designs into ceramics (page 110) and furniture (page 116), focusing on traditional profiles and shapes, making this our largest brochure yet! We hope you enjoy!

T H E

At BC Designs we know and love classic design and materials but also appreciate the value of modern techniques. Each traditional acrylic and copper roll top bath reproduction is crafted with the original in mind but in modern materials for comfort and ease of installation. Our bespoke colour service is done in house in our painting workshop and now extends to copper baths as well as our classic acrylic roll tops. Our new range of copper & brass baths are made in the traditional handcrafted manner used for centuries and plated in our exciting choice of finishes.

Our copper baths They are hand-made and every bathtub is a unique work of art completely different from one to the next. All of the curves and bends are made with no more than a hammer, an experienced eye and a strong arm.

Variations and undulations will occur which is why each piece is distinctive. There will be blemishes, marks and small scratches in some areas and inevitably, due to the authentic characteristics of the material, surface textures will be visible. Our copper baths add character to a bathroom and you have the option of maintaining its beautiful shine or leaving it to age and weather over time. Our copper baths are made from 99.5%+ 15-18 gauge pure copper.

Why choose copper? Heat Retention

Polished Copper, Brass & Enamel finishes

Nickel finishes

Routinely clean with warm water and a non abrasive cloth and dry immediately after use. Avoid dripping taps, sharp objects and the use of harsh chemicals.

To keep the nickel finish in premium condition, the wax seal should be maintained by regular reapplication. Do not use abrasive metal cleaner on nickel plated items as this could wear through the finish. A small amount of 'Peek' metal cleaner can be used on minor tarnishing.

Maintain the finish by re-applying a suitable wax seal (we recommend Renaissance Wax) regularly every 4-6 weeks depending on use. More usage will require more maintenance. If the wax wears off and oxidisation develops on the copper surface, clean the bath with a fine metal cleaner, such as Autosol, and then re-apply the wax.

Antique Copper, Verdigris & Patinata finishes lacquered

Please be aware that these models are not lacquered and will require regular maintenance to keep them shiny.

Our Tin Boat bath requires little maintenance.

Non abrasive cleaner or warm water - do not use wire bristled brushes or corrosive chemicals.

Routinely clean with warm water and a non abrasive cloth and dry immediately after use.

Copper baths retain the heat of your water for much longer than acrylic versions. The temperature is much better than an acrylic bath meaning that you can have a longer soak without topping up your tub!

Hygiene A little-known fact that few homeowners are aware of is that copper is actually a super metal when it comes to killing germs. While most viruses can last for days on steel and glass, they are killed within hours or sometimes minutes on copper! The same applies to Brass as well! So, for those deciding on a bathroom renovation, copper baths and basins not only look stunning and bring a touch of luxury to a bathroom project but they also provide a really important function in helping the room to stay germ free.

Finish Options Our Copper range is incredibly versatile and we have expanded our range to include Antique, Verdigris, Patinata and Enamel finishes alongside Nickel & Tin.

Our Brass Boat Bath is handmade using beautifully smooth brass sheets to form the classic roll top shape that you have come to expect from the BC Designs range. Our Process Our in house specialist will key the bath first and then coat it with a water based primer/sealer. Using a roller the bath is then painted with 3 or more coats of the chosen colour. We use an Exterior Eggshell paint which has a 20% sheen finish.

The paint is durable, eco-friendly and has a breathable finish.

Water, fungal resistant, washable and wipeable.

Resistant to flaking, peeling and colour fade for up to 6 years (providing care instructions for the surface are followed).

The bath will go through several processes, being quality checked all the way so we can ensure a perfect finish.

Please note Full colour swatches can be ordered directly from the Farrow & Ball or Little Greene Paint Company websites. RAL colours also available. Our painted Boat bath is a bespoke product and we cannot accept liability for colour chosen. It is the customer's responsibility to check the paint before ordering. We are unable to accept returns on this basis.

Thermal shock Cian® Solid Surfacing complies with Din 198 thermal shock standards and can be placed on heated floors.

Made in South Africa All of our Cian® solid surface baths are manufactured in our exclusive factory in Cape Town, South Africa. We use the best and most meticulous techniques to create a material that is free from imperfections and polished to a premium finish.

Easy maintenance A daily wipe using a non-abrasive cleaning agent will keep the surface clean. It is resistant to deterioration and minor damages can be polished or repaired.

Bampton

Inspired by the early 20th century fire clay baths. The Bampton is made from our unique Cian® material for better durability and heat retention. It has a very large bathing area, due to the thin rim achieved in this single casting, yet is a space saver at only 1555mm long. The Bampton comes in a hand polished finish.

Most Cian® baths can be ordered in ColourKast – and at the same price as White! Simply state your bath’s product code and add your finish to the end to order. For example: Vive Bath in Industrial Grey - BAB064IG Please bear in mind that darker colours are more likely to show up marks and imperfections. Matching ColourKast wastes can be ordered to suit – as well as various plated finishes. All ColourKast baths and basins are manufactured in a Silk Matt finish only. While we endeavour to hold stock of most baths please allow up to 15 weeks for delivery for some models. Check with us which baths we have in stock before ordering.

BC Designs will not normally sell directly to the consumer and for this reason our published terms and conditions relate to the supply of goods on a business to business basis. Terms and conditions applicable to the end user are also those offered by the outlet from where you purchase the item and may vary. For this reason, end users should always refer any issue to the point of purchase in the first instance.

We aim to maintain stock of all items in this brochure at all times. However, the majority of items contained herein are produced in small volume and in specialist circumstances and can therefore be affected by significant lead times. Availability should be checked at the time of ordering and before making any commitment to installation.

We offer a 1-year guarantee against structure faults on all brassware products (incl wastes) in this brochure. This may be enhanced by warranties offered by the manufacturer. However, it is important that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions in registering for any such benefits. All products must be fitted in accordance with both the instructions and any relevant regulations that apply to the country in which they are fitted. They are supplied for normal domestic use only. We do not cover products against fair wear and tear (including copper plated baths), misuse, incorrect usage, incorrect installation, incorrect specification, malicious or accidental damage, negligence or lack of servicing. Including wear on plated items, including copper baths. Guarantees and warranties are non transferable. Proof of purchase will be required to validate any claim. No claim greater than the purchase price paid to BC Designs or for consequential loss will be entertained by BC Designs, except where negligence on the part of BC Designs is proven. When installing baths with prefitted wastes it is your responsibility to check for leaks, loose fittings and seals as well as levelling issues. Copper & Brass baths come with a 1-year guarantee and a 10-year structure guarantee. It is your responsibility to maintain your copper or brass bath as per the recommended instructions given at time of delivery (see our website for more details).

Authenticity Many products in this brochure are made using techniques rarely in common use today. This is to recreate an authentic period look and this should not be confused with mass-produced, featureless product and thus construed as imperfect. Where applicable this is highlighted in our information on individual products.

Printing accuracy Prices are for guidance and are correct at the time of going to print but do not constitute a formal offer as prices may have to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Accordingly, all prices are those ruling at the date of despatch. Photographs in this brochure are studio posed in a setting intended to demonstrate the ambiance and look of the main product featured, unless otherwise stated. All items used to dress the shot are photographer’s props and therefore we are unable to advise on them.

BC Designs will not accept any liability where there is no prior written advice of critical requirements.

Bespoke orders Special orders are only accepted in writing. Delivery periods can not be guaranteed. Cancelling will only be accepted in writing and can only be accepted prior to production or despatch of the item. Bespoke products that are specially ordered, such as painted baths, will not be accepted for return.

Delivery We use third party couriers and hauliers. All deliveries are FOC (at a cost of over £125 net to BC Designs) to a commercial address, with the exception of overseas and out of area postcodes. At the time of ordering, a confirmation will be sent which will include all delivery information. Deliveries to private addresses and those requiring premium services in excess of those described above will incur additional charges. Please contact our Sales Office with your requirements to obtain a quote. Orders for less than £125 net will incur a carriage charge of £8.95. For further delivery information please visit our website.

Damage in transit All products supplied by BC Designs are carefully inspected prior to shipping, and every care is taken with packaging to ensure orders arrive in good condition. However, sometimes things can go wrong. As we do not use our own transport there is a limited time in which we can make a claim for any damage in transit against carriers. For this reason, outer packaging should be inspected for obvious signs of damage before accepting delivery and all items should be opened and inspected before signing. We cannot accept claims for damage in transit after this, nor will we accept any responsibility once goods have been passed to a third party without prior inspection.

C Designs must be contacted prior 1. B to any item being returned and returns documentation obtained. BC Designs will not accept any responsibility where this requirement has not been complied with. 2. The original BC Designs invoice number must be quoted when contacting BC Designs. BC Designs will only deal with the persons to whom the product was originally invoiced. 3. The item to be returned must be in perfect re-saleable condition when received at BC Designs. We will not accept any items for return which have been fitted, used or in a condition other than that which it was supplied. 4. The retail packaging must be unmarked and in good condition. For this reason, it is wise to retain all packaging materials and to open packaging with care. 5. I t is not the responsibility of BC Designs to organise or pay for the return of goods in these circumstances. 6. I n selecting a suitable method for return consideration should be given to proper insurance as BC Designs cannot accept liability for goods damaged in transit. 7. R esponsibility for packaging the item in a suitably robust fashion lies with the sender. If there is any doubt as to what a suitably robust fashion means please contact BC Designs for specific packaging advice. 8. I tems damaged in transit will not be accepted for refund/credit. Please be advised that our Terms & Conditions have been amended to reflect a £100 plus VAT restocking charge for any bath orders cancelled after despatch with immediate effect and a 25% restocking charge for small items. If you have any queries regarding this please do not hesitate to contact our Sales Team.

Claims after installation No claims will be entertained other than for a genuine manufacturing & structural fault after installation has commenced. Visible marks, scratches, impact damage, discolouration through chemical contamination, etc will not be accepted as genuine manufacturing faults. Proper care should be taken to protect the product from damage during installation and through to commissioning. Warranty claims will not be accepted for any wear claims.
