Starting out quite modestly in a small factory in Southern Norway, today we operate a multi-million pound award winning factory producing panels for over 100,000 bathrooms a year.

We are now the leading supplier of plywood waterproof wall panel systems across Europe.

Fibo system in a nutshell

Fibo’s wall system is a fully watertight solution that consists of wall panels, profiles and accessories.

The system does not require plaster, vapour barriers or grouting.

Walls

The Fibo panels are made from a high-pressured laminate surface, seven layered plywood core and enhanced moisture barrier. All panels are supplied with our unique Aqualock system and are easy to fit.

The panels can be screwed directly into studs or glued to existing walls. This means you have no need for backing boards or chipboard. The system does not require plaster, vapour barriers or grouting.

We have a range of profiles specially adapted to make the system 100% waterproof.

Accessories

Our range of accessories provide everything needed to easily install and maintain the system. Provided that the wall panels are correctly installed, we provide a 25-year warranty on our panels.

1. Wall Panels

Composition

Our panels are made from a PEFC- certified seven-layer birch plywood core, a highpressured surface, and Aqualock tongue and groove joint which is quick and easy to install, creating a 100% waterproof wall panel system for interior walls.

Designed and manufactured in Norway since 1952, creating instant transformations of walls within hours. The system is approved under stringent SINTEF wet room standards in Scandinavia.

With 2400mm high and 600mm wide wall panels, you can easily cover the wall from floor to ceiling. Some of our panels are also available in 900mm wide with a tongue and groove joint and 1200mm wide in square edge only. When installing, Fibo panels:

Can be easily cut and adapted to your walls, without the mess

Can be glued onto existing wall surfaces, such as tiles or concrete with Fibo adhesive.

How to best use our profiles

• Use Hidden Internal Corners if you want a seamless room with no metal strips in the corners

• Hide exposed edges with a J or L shape – this really works with half walls.

• Use an L shape for windows and boxing in.

Our range of accessories completes our system, by providing every fitter with everything they need to install, seal and finish the Wall Panel System to ensure it is 100% waterproof.

Click Wax: make it easy fixing the panels in place with the Aqualock joint. Use on male joint only.

Grips: simplify lifting and fixing of panels in place with our Fibo grips.

Sealing tool: This is a superb multi-use tool. Use it to remove excess adhesive from panel joints and corner strips. Also use for smoothing the adhesive in the corners and around the base profile.

Adhesive: designed and tested in rigorous environments, glue panels to back wall substrates.

Tapping tool: use it in conjunction with two piece internal corner profile.

Sealing

Sealant: Specially designed to be used with the Fibo system, our sealant comes in 3 different colours to match your grout lines – black, grey and white.

Sealing tool: Grab that sealing tool again and use it to even out sealant on cut edges and remove excess sealant from panel joints and corner strips.

Cleaning

Wipes: Clean profiles before fixing them in place, using it to remove excess grout during assembly, usually in combination with Fibo Clean.

Cleaning Spray: Use it to remove excess grout during assembly, combined with the Wipes, and cleaning profiles before installation.

Sealing tool: This tool really is useful! Use it to remove or smooth excess sealant.

Magic Sponge: Use it to clean the panels and remove stains.

100% waterproof

Our Aqualock joint makes Fibo wall systems the perfect choice for both renovations and new builds. Our unique system provides a 100% waterproof surface when used in conjunction with an approved sealant such as Fibo Seal.

Look and feel like tiles

If you still want the look, feel and effect of tiles without the hassle and mess of grouting, Fibo is the perfect alternative. Some other wall panel manufacturers simply print the grout line onto the panel. However, we choose to carve out the grout line during the manufacturing process in our state-of-the-art factory.

Our panels are clicked together with the Fibo Aqualock tongue and groove joint which provides virtually invisible join lines. Joining the panels couldn’t be easier. Just seal, click and go!

Five times faster than tiles

Fibo wall panels are designed to make installation easy and efficient. The wall system can be mounted up to five times faster than tiles and panels can be attached to a timber frame, existing tiles or plasterboard.

Our wall panels are a more cost-effective alternative to tiles because you can save a significant amount of money on labour costs due to the ease of installation. There is no need to wait for tanking or grout to dry so you can install Fibo in a day!

antibacterial

All Fibo wall panels now come with antibacterial certification. Our panel surfaces contain no harmful substances, require no special maintenance and are tested according to the ISO 22196 standard. This means that it is virtually impossible (99.99%) for E. coli and Staphylococcus bacteria to survive. The certification covers all our panel decors, both with and without, tile designs.

Can I use Fibo panels on the Ceiling or Floor?

No, Fibo panels are for wall use only.

Can I Attach Wall Mounted Items or Accessories to Fibo Panels?

Yes, you can. Heavy items such as washbasins or towel rails should always have additional support behind the panel.

Which Adhesive and Sealant should I use?

To ensure waterproof results, we recommend using Fibo Adhesive and Fibo Sealant.

Can I install Fibo directly to Plasterboard or Ceramic tiles?

Yes, Fibo panels can be fitted directly onto existing tiles or to plasterboard walls. We would always recommend mechanical fixing, using screws, in the first instance. However, should this not be possible or practical and, provided your walls are sound and straight, you can use just the adhesive to fix Fibo panels to the wall.

All our materials are fully traceable, and we publish our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report annually so you can track our progress. Our panels are PEFC-certified renewable plywood, without harmful chemicals, to produce our panels.

Impact on the environment

We continuously strive to reduce our environmental impact. We have reduced our energy consumption during manufacturing, halved the amount of plastic used in packaging and reduced wastage in production. Our factory has the highest environmental standard and is certified according to IOS 140001:2015.

Furthermore, an independent research confirms that our panels have a 37% lower carbon footprint than tiles when installed in a bathroom.
