What we do and why we do it is easy to understand. For us, quality is always synonymous with premium quality. Premium products made from the finest steel enamel. Great design, maximum comfort, smart solutions, the perfectly enamelled surface – with maximum service life. We are guided by our own guidelines and requirements. We set the benchmarks ourselves. For our customers this means: There is premium quality in every KALDEWEI product.

We produce them 100 percent made in Germany. Directly at the company location. The entire production of shower surfaces, bathtubs and washbasins takes place on site at the headquarters. From there, no product leaves the premises until it has been thoroughly checked by human hands and eyes and finally certified before it can make its way to the customer. After all, we are the only manufacturer in the world who has developed the formula for steel enamel ourselves. We give, and that is an integral part of our family-run company, a 30-year guarantee of trust to our valued customers* on our material. We call something like this long-term product trust. We have been sustainable for more than 100 years. KALDEWEI bathroom solutions made of steel enamel are nothing more than two absolutely pure natural raw materials that are fused together: Steel and glass. The manufacturing process is completely non-toxic. Everything happens by means of a natural reaction of the two elements by means of massive forces during the deep drawing of the blanks and the eternally binding effect of extreme heat in the furnace.

AND IS THE FIRST BATHROOM DESIGNER FROM GERMANY TO BE AWARDED BY THE INSTITUT BAUEN UND UMWELT E.V. WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION. IN 2017 KALDEWEI RECEIVED THE “GREEN GOOD DESIGN” AWARD IN THE “PRODUCTS” CATEGORY, ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS.

KALDEWEI steel enamel is 100 percent recyclable and practically invincible. Daily stresses on the material and design such as water, cleaning agents, alkalis, or simply dirt damage surfaces in the bathroom.

When it comes to bathroom hygiene, steel enamel is the gold standard. This is because germs do not like smooth, pore-free surfaces. Every bathroom is a sensitive hygiene area due to the widely varying temperatures and high humidity.

Our steel enamel stays like new for decades. The surfaces are scratch and impact resistant, heat resistant, remain colourfast even after decades, are timelessly beautiful and robust. Steel enamel is easy to care for like no other material in the bathroom. This makes it as sterile and hygienic as possible because nothing sticks to it. And to ensure it stays that way, we have been continuously expanding our material expertise for four generations and continue to research even better solutions every day.

In less durable and more open materials, such as tiled shower surfaces and their joints, scratches and cracks form gradually, in which uninvited, microscopic guests can nestle. And stay there too.
