Classic Architecture

A passage through time Every interior or design collection has its muse, its story, its guiding light, but few are as steeped in historic significance as this – our new tile collaboration with the National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity.

Flora & fauna

O Rugged Coastline

ur new tile collection is inspired by the properties, gardens, coastlines and countryside that are cared for by the National Trust. From arboretums and abbeys to great halls and the ever-changing flora of the breathtaking gardens and landscapes surrounding them, we were overwhelmed by the stunning architecture and design that has been lovingly cared for by the charity.

2

By taking a closer look at the detail of the stonework and

decorative tiles within many of the properties, we have created an authentic and inspiring collection of classic and contemporary tiles for walls and floors. With each and every tile, you’ll step into one of the National Trust’s historic houses or be transported to the scenery that surrounds it. Take the Dyrham Dairy collection, inspired by the original delft tiles found in the dairy at Gloucestershire’s Dyrham Park or the Woodland Glade range, which evokes the feeling of a Saturday afternoon stroll through Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey.

A tile from the National Trust collection is an investment in our heritage in more ways than one. A minimum of £10,000 from sales of this collection will help the National Trust continue to care for nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever. So let us travel through time with tiles.

Your journey into the past starts here… 3

East Head

From their home to yours Shoreline brings a subtle rustic charm to splashbacks and feature walls. The coastal colour palette is enriching without being overwhelming and can be used as an accent tone or as a neutral backdrop to bold coloured furniture or furnishings.

Sea Shells

Combine Chalk White or Gull with dark green or blue kitchen cabinetry or enhance a classic bathroom scheme with Shingle or Shallow Water tones. Shoreline also looks striking used on walls with contrasting colours above and below the dado line for a unique finish to your interior.

Shoreline Strangford Lough

A rectangular ceramic tile with a handmade effect and contemporary glazed finish, the Shoreline collection is inspired by the 780 miles of coastline which is cared for by the National Trust.

S

horeline perfectly captures the spirit of the coast with a palette reminiscent of coastal paths and bracing white cliffs. Home to rare animals and insects, areas of coastline cared for by the National Trust include the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Giant’s Causeway and land at the White Cliffs of Dover. National Trust protection ensures that our beaches, their micro-climate and the flora and fauna surrounding them are looked after for their long term survival. Available in seven soft, subtle shades, the 10 x 20cm tiles combine a glazed finish with a rustic, handcrafted effect.

Dyrham Dairy

From their home to yours With such a rich heritage behind them, our Dyrham Dairy collection is perfect for kitchens and bathrooms as well as walk-in larders and pantries.

A visit to Dyrham Park revealed a perfectly preserved collection of original delft tiles in the basement dairy. It was this discovery which inspired our screen printed tile collection, which features motifs of different National Trust landmarks, as well as flora and fauna.

D

yrham Dairy is a ceramic tile collection influenced by the beautiful blue and white delft tiles that can be seen in the house at Dyrham Park today. Part of the basement rooms, which also include the Victorian kitchen, bakehouse and several larders, the dairy forms an integral part of this 17th-century house in the village of Dyrham in

The rustic tile has a handmade style while the traditional motifs are hand painted then screen printed onto each tile for an authentic look. A classic design that would complement Shakerstyle cabinetry and in-frame timber kitchens, we have given the tile a contemporary twist for a more modern interior. This is why the collection will also enhance kitchens or bathrooms with brushed brass hardware and an industrial feel ideal for modern living.

South Gloucestershire. Built in 1698, the dairy was originally known as the Little Kitchen and the original tiles date from the early 18th-century. A rustic ceramic tile with a handapplied screen printed motif, the collection is made in the UK’s pottery capital, Stoke-on-Trent.

Inspired by nature

Woodland Glade Inspired by the seasonal flora of the beautiful and breathtaking Winkworth Arboretum near Godalming in Surrey. The Woodland Glade collection is a stunning selection of botanical printed tiles in an on-trend hexagonal design.

E

stablished in the early 20th Century, Winkworth Arboretum encompasses an internationally significant collection of over 1,000 different species of trees and shrubs, many of them rare. Such is the importance of landscape for the long-term security of wildlife and climate change for the National Trust, that in 2020 their

Director-General pledged that the charity would plant 20 million trees by 2030. With this in mind, Woodland Glade is an elegant mix of flora shapes, subtle textures, muted and tonal palettes - a bold botanical design that offers homeowners the perfect opportunity to get creative with their walls and floors.

Alfriston Clergy Timeless, elegant and influenced by the stunning National Trust property, Alfriston Clergy House, the first built property in the care of the National Trust and bought for £10 in 1896.

A

lfriston Clergy is a traditional repeat pattern tile inspired by the oak leaf carving that can still be found on one of the beams at this medieval house. It is this oak leaf that is the inspiration behind the National Trust logo and the repeat pattern this collection is based upon. The tiles are printed in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of UK textiles and ceramics. This is an English-made collection with enduring design.

From their home to yours In period properties this style looks effortlessly chic in a bathroom complete with a colourful or crisp white roll-top cast iron tub with claw feet and a freestanding vanity unit with countertop basin. The Oak & Acorn bathroom From their home to yours Ideal for bathrooms, cloakrooms and en-suites as well as kitchens and utility rooms, the Lyme tile collection evokes a feeling of our Regency past. These classic reproduction metro wall tiles are heavily glazed in a jewel-like colour palette for a premium look and feel with a gorgeous crackle glaze finish that instantly catches the eye. Create a feature wall or splashback or an attractive dado design around all four walls for instant impact. The bespoke chunky puddle glaze dado edging is the perfect complement to the collection.

Lyme There’s much that’s special with these metro tiles. From the depth of colour achieved by using a translucent glaze that pools and puddles across the tile’s surface, known as puddle glazing, to the jewel-like palette of glossy greens and blues.

I

t was during a visit to Lyme on the periphery of the Peak District that our creative team came upon the Oak & Acorn Bathroom in all its beautifully deep green and glossy glory. From the contoured dado edging to the jewel-like tones of olive, emerald and peacock, they felt immediately inspired to recreate this premium look for the modern home. A crackle glaze enhances the authentic feel while beautifully bespoke dados add the perfect finish. Available in four heritage tones, Antique White, Emerald Green, Olive Green and Peacock Blue, our Lyme collection blends the classic character of the metro tile with a premium puddle glaze.

Designed to celebrate both the buildings and the gardens within the National Trust, it aims to highlight specific rooms, buildings, properties and precise areas of greenery and nature. As anyone who has visited the National Trust knows all too well, they are all about the details and we have taken the utmost care with this collection, to create an architectural edit that focuses on the masters of bold, beautiful design.

Tree Ferns

Glendurgan The maze

Muted in colour and delicate in brush strokes, the Glendurgan collection is a fitting homage to the exotic ferns, plants and flowers that can be found at Glendurgan Garden near Falmouth in Cornwall.

W

ith its playful valleys, mesmerising maze, carpet of wild flowers come spring and the rare sighting of a giant tulip tree, there is much to see at Glendurgan Garden. This is largely thanks to its unique microclimate, which encourages the growth of big leaves and exotic flowers, creating a source of calm and mystery in equal measure. Our Glendurgan tile collection with its soft, shadow-like

patterns and tactile texture encourages you to reach out and touch, just as you are compelled to do when strolling around the garden itself. With a nod to the botanical trend for contemporary kitchen and bathroom décor, Glendurgan is available in three patterns – Exotic, Wild Flower and Fern.

From their home to yours The Glendurgan ceramic collection captures the essence and beauty of nature with three patterns to choose from.

Lacock Abbey

Lacock

O

nce home to William Henry Fox Talbot, inventor of the photographic negative, 13th-century Lacock Abbey is a quirky Wiltshire country house with monastic roots and its own woodland grounds. A plethora of different architectural styles including Tudor, Gothic and Victorian, the Abbey is firmly rooted in its medieval past with a Grade

I listing and beautifully preserved cloisters and gardens. It is the flooring within those cloisters that has inspired our Lacock collection of random sized flagstones in a choice of two limestone finishes. Choose from the Heritage finish, perfect for creating an aged look within a classic kitchen, or the Natural finish for a velvety clean feel.

The Cloisters

One of the defining features of Lacock Abbey, in Wiltshire, has to be its head-to-toe, honey-hued stone covering the building’s facade, interior walls and flagstone floors. Our Lacock collection has been designed in homage to the time-worn limestone flooring that can be found in the cloisters.

The Warming Room

From their home to yours Lacock is the perfect limestone flooring solution for interior applications in classic or contemporary homes. Our Heritage tile offers an aged, distressed feel with handmade raw edges and a machine tumbled finish. Perfect for complementing timber cabinetry and a freestanding cast iron range cooker, it’s a floor tile that works wonderfully in open-plan kitchens where the authentic limestone tile can be carried through into a dining area, utility and hallway beyond. We also have a Natural tile that creates a smooth satino effect perfect for more modern schemes.
