kitchens Kitchens are the foundation of our business at Stephen Graver and the real hub of the home for you and your family to immerse yourself in to create your own utopia. We don’t offer a ‘range’ of designs as we believe your kitchen should be as individual as you are and encompass your personality, taste and style. That way, it can truly be described as ‘bespoke.’
ur exceptional team have created a very diverse portfolio of styles and designs, which are a good place O to start to visualise your own ideas of how your own space could work. By working closely with you, we take those conceptual ideas to reality, through visionary design and seamless installation to delivery a truly outstanding result you’ll be proud to call home. Here are just a few examples of the projects we have worked on and the generous feedback we have had from our clients.

meadow house Our clients wanted to create an open plan kitchen/diner from two existing rooms in their already beautiful house. Building work was undertaken that would allow us to create a space that would incorporate our signature, handmade cabinetry and an almost three-metre island. Completed with San Fillipo 30mm granite, engineered oak flooring and appliances from Miele, Wolf and Quooker, this is a project that was a pleasure to work on, for clients that we loved working with.

from our initial meeting with stephen, we knew his company was the one we would use
for our kitchen/dining room project. stephen
came up with some fantastic design ideas and from outset, everything was set-out clearly with transparency for costs and the work
to be undertaken and the duration of the project – an 8-10 week project. we loved that
the company would undertake all aspects of the project including project management.
all the trades we had on-site arrived when expected and were polite, tidy, punctual and
professional. their standard of work was excellent and everyone made what could
have been a very stressful time in our lives, to be smooth and painless. the quality of the
kitchen is exceptional – thank you to karl and his team in the workshop. john (site manager)
was fantastic and ensured everything ran
like clockwork and as a result, the project finished in just under eight weeks. even all our

trebarwith A handcrafted shaker style with an East Coast feel, the colours were inspired by the surrounding coastal landscape. Heavy duty American pull handles complement the crisp clean lines of the furniture. A bespoke canopy sits above the range and gives a continental touch to an otherwise typical coastal look. English blue grey slate features as the main worktop, with quartz for the island.

kitchen is truly bespoke, i asked stephen to copy a french style hood over the cooker from a magazine picture, including stainless steel rivets and it was faithfully reproduced
in every detail. although the kitchen was built
for a house in cornwall, the minor issues that arose after installation were sorted out very quickly and the kitchen was built and installed on schedule. i also designed a basin
stand for the house which was also built by stephen, again beautifully put together and finished. i would not hesitate to recommend stephen

the old bakery The original architects had drawn the kitchen at the opposite end of the room but we suggested a complete reversal. By repositioning French doors and the way the garden worked, the room was transformed. Our client decided to have the AGA in a bold colour to add impact. The cupboards are traditional shaker style with glass bar handles, but we offered the client a unique ‘signature’ cutlery drawer to be painted in their favourite colour pink. We also decided to paint the internals of the curved cupboards pink, this has a dramatic impact upon opening.

it is amazing how many times visitors entering
our kitchen for the first time utter the word ‘wow’ the attractiveness of the design
matches the carefully planned practicality.
stephen’s help was not limited to the design of the kitchen units. with his input the whole orientation of the project was altered to produce a much improved layout for the large

which

invaluable. the whole team was a pleasure to work with.

the green This country house required a kitchen that would serve as its heartbeat. With our client being a professional chef, it was essential that the space was functional and robust, whilst also providing a social environment. The kitchen plan met the ergonomic needs by integrating existing freestanding stainless steel tables into the island design. A hidden cupboard provides an extra worktop and shelving to home the client’s many appliances. We were also keen to maximise the beautiful views from the window by designing a cherrywood breakfast bar, banked by stainless steel roller shutters. The anthracite grey cabinetry gives a focal point to a bright and light room, whilst also helping to combine industrial/ contemporary materials in a countryside setting.

the most troubling part of our downsize was the kitchen. we needed a kitchen design team
to
accommodate
incorporate
in
their
our
plans,
demands, some
and
mobile
units and an electric aga which were, to us, indispensable. having been told about stephen graver, we approached them to see if they
could come up with some good ideas and we were not disappointed.
they took time and care over our requests and
what resulted was an ergonomic, functional kitchen.
the
workmanship
was
extremely
good and the fitting of the entire kitchen was skilled, quiet and clean. our breakfast
bar/table evolved with clever inspiration to allow heat from the radiator below to come through. we think this is a significant part
of the overall design of the kitchen, which has a good combination of storage space and
worktop, so necessary in a working kitchen. this

hurstbourne Featuring a large kitchen and dining area, big enough for a large dinner party, this kitchen has classic clean lines with a timeless feel. somerset The sash windows in this traditional Georgian property in Somerset fill the room with natural light. To utilise this feature and maximise space, we crafted and hand-painted white storage units in the existing alcoves. Together, the contrasting island and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances provide a contemporary twist to the classic scheme. The high-level cabinets offer exceptional storage for items that aren’t used on a regular basis. We selected a traditional stone floor that worked well with the grandeur of the house.

Stephen was recommended to me by chance by a friend of a friend at a party in Beaune,
France. I had a vague idea in my head to redo the small basement kitchen in a house I had
just moved into on Lansdown Place in Bath. The enthusiastic endorsement led to a meeting
at the showroom a few weeks later and I was immediately convinced that he was the right person for the project; a project which quickly
developed into a complete restoration of the basement apartment followed by the main
kitchen, dining room and hall on the ground floor. To say that Stephen Graver makes
bespoke kitchens and bathrooms really only tells half the story. He effectively manages a
project from concept to completion bringing design ideas and a wealth of experience along
the way. He also understands the importance of the history of Bath properties, perfectly marrying
modern
technology
with
period
features. The Stephen Graver team are true perfectionists. They have an eye for detail
and quality that sets them apart from most of their competitors. They are also a great bunch of people; friendly and polite and they deliver completely on their commitments.

castle house The brief for the master bedroom dressing room and en-suite was to exude the qualities of some of the world’s most prestigious hotel suites. So, we used solid oak frames with full burr oak panels for the beautiful, handmade furniture. We are incredibly proud that the clients chose to work with the Stephen Graver team again, having worked with us on their previous home. Although not involved with the construction of the building, we designed the concept ides for the kitchen, utility room, boot room, study/library, guest bedroom furniture and master dressing room and en-suite. Our relationship with our clients encouraged them to put their trust in us to create an incredible finish with exacting standards of design and quality within a property that truly deserves it.

st. michael’s barn Having carried out major alterations to the rest of the house, our client asked if we would come up with ideas for an en-suite to the master bedroom and also the guest bathroom. For the main bathroom it was decided to remove the bath and install a full width wet room shower area. The vanity unit was designed and made in our workshop using American Black Walnut and the floor and walls are fully tiled with natural marble. Vola taps and accessories were selected to add to the impeccable quality throughout The en-suite was challenging due to limited size but the outcome is an incredible room using exceptional equipment, with purpose made furniture made in our own workshop. We also remodelled the bedroom as part of the scheme with a new oak floor, internal doors and joinery items.

the nash Our client required a walk-in shower, a sumptuous copper freestanding bath and a WC. The bathroom to the master suite was created in an existing bedroom. They also wanted to incorporate a dressing room area within this room; which was to feature a two-basin oak vanity unit, together with tall curved oak cabinets, finished beautifully with tan leather handles.

castle house The concept for the kitchen design was driven in part by the huge hexagonal entrance atrium that leads directly into the kitchen area. The initial designs were developed into working drawings. The statement piece for the kitchen is the large ceiling bulkhead and in order to make sure it worked aesthetically, we made a full size section that would enable the clients to fully visualise how the finished piece would look. The American Black Walnut panelling was chosen to compliment some of the client’s existing furniture, this material is used throughout the construction of the kitchen cabinets, with the paint colour of the door fronts complimenting the colour of all the building’s exterior doors and windows.

churchfields The initial meeting with client was to discuss redesigning and making a new kitchen, as part of this we discussed how the rest of the house worked in relations to the kitchen. There was a door leading from the kitchen into a garage area being used as a store room rather than a garage, this had access stairs leading to a bedroom and study area. Our client was open to idea of incorporating this space into the scheme. We prepared various layout drawings together with preliminary prices from this our client decided to engage Stephen Graver to carry out the whole project. During the design process we managed to incorporate a modest utility room without impacting the overall kitchen design. The inclusion of the garage area into the kitchen living space has made this an incredible transformation, including alterations to the bedroom above.

lansdown Our clients had just relocated from London and they wanted an elegant kitchen for their townhouse which is set in a beautiful crescent in Bath. It was the shape of the crescent which inspired the design of the island, featuring both convex and concave cupboards to soften the visual outline of the space, whilst offering plenty of storage. The handsome Wolf Range is enhanced with a pro-wall hood, creating a strong focal point. The hand-painted finish and elegant pull handles are complemented by the beautiful granite work surfaces and splash back.

the
kitchen
provides
a
big
‘wow-factor’
when people visit the house. it is an unusual design, with the curves and shape echoing the
architectural features of the house and of
the crescent itself. arriving at the design was a very interactive process with ideas being
contributed from both sides, but being held together with stephen’s expertise and vision.
in addition to the visual aspect, the design is very practical, with space for people to
work alongside each other without being
crowded, and providing storage space where everything can be conveniently placed where
you’d expect to find it. we love the fact that there are so many features that make our
kitchen unique, from the choice of materials,
to the curvature of the marble stonework, the fittings and the quality of the casework.

the malmesbury The style of the kitchen takes its inspiration from colonial America. The hand-painted cabinets are fitted with heavy duty pull handles, which were purchased in the USA and then nickel plated in the UK. Sub-Zero Refrigeration frames the Everhot stove, creating symmetry. The large central island is ideal for food preparation and informal dining alike. In the dining area, tall planked timber cabinet doors open up to reveal a tea and coffee station and an abundance of storage space.

the amesbury The existing wooden conservatory was in need of some major repairs, It suffered from the usual problems of too hot to use in the summer and too cold to use in the winter. Our client was open to ideas for a replacement. Stephen came up with a few ideas, very quickly an ultra-modern design was the front runner. We developed the ideas until we had an approved design. We then had to go through the planning process as this is a grade 2 star historical building. With planning permission granted we started on-site. This new building had to be comfortable to use all year round as the clients home office.
