BATHING MATERIALS

When choosing a bath, material choice depends on individual preference and intended use. In order to be able to provide the right solution for all situations, LAUFEN provides three different materials each of which has distinctive characteristics that defines its design, shape, function and finish.

Sentec

Bathing in a bathtub made of solid surface material Sentec feels like being in a natural basin. Due to a high percentage of mineral particles, the surface feels smooth. The innovative material also allows an incredible freedom of design: almost every shape is feasible – from very organic to very straight and architectural. Furthermore the non-porous surface of the material is hygienic, durable, UV- resistant, highly resistant to scratches and can be effortlessly cleaned. Pleasant and natural feel

Retains warmth

Marbond MA Marbond is a composite material made of two layers which are extremely well connected with each other. The basis is formed by a high-quality mineral casting material, the surface is coated with a two millimetre thick acrylic layer. Marbond is hygienic, easy to clean, temperature resistant according to EN 263 and anti-slip (class C).

Acrylic AC Bathtubs made of sanitary acrylic have benefits due to the insulating properties of the material and its warm surface. Together with an underlay made of hard foam, the material helps your bath water retain its temperature for a long time. LAUFEN sanitary acrylic is integrally coloured, is light and colour fast and easy to clean.

Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders is a leading product and interior design studio located in Amsterdam. Under Marcel Wanders and Gabriele Chiave’s leadership and creative direction, the team are bringing the human touch back to design, ushering in a design’s ‘new age;’ in which designer, crafts person and user are reunited. The studio is shaping the design industry with more romantic and humanistic design thinking, respecting the past and diversity of culture.

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain, and now lives and works in Milan. She studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Milan Polytechnic, where she earned her degree in 1989 under the tutorship of Achille Castiglioni. In 2001, Patricia Urquiola opened her own studio, where she concentrates on product design, architecture and interior design.

Peter Wirz

Design of the human touch: this is the creed of Vetica, the design hotbed based in Lucerne, Taipeh, Hamburg and Hong Kong. The members of this interdisciplinary, international team surrounding Swiss designer Peter Wirz see through the development processes of industrial products in their form and function and regard themselves as idea smiths - not only in matters of design, which is seen as an interdisciplinary process in a wider context.

Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic was born in 1965 in Munich, Germany. After training as a cabinetmaker at the John Make-peace School (Dorset, England), he studied industrial design at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1991, Grcic established his studio, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID), in Berlin and is now one of the leading industrial designers of the modern era.

Stefano Giovannoni was born in 1954 in La Spezia, Italy. He studied architecture in Florence. From 1989 onwards, he designed the successful Girotondo accessories collection for Alessi. Today, he lives and works at Studio Giovannoni, on restored former factory premises in the centre of Milan. As well as industrial products, he also designs interiors and architecture.

Toan Nguyen

Ludovica and Roberto Palomba

Together they studied architecture at Rome University before founding their Milan based company in 1994. Ludovica+Roberto Palomba have a long time partnership with Laufen. The Palomba collection was formed from a symbiosis between rigid geometry and nature. When the idea to create a new, collaborative collection with Kartell emerged, it was only natural that these two multi award-winning designers would become art directors of the project. Ludovica+Roberto Palomba were able to understand and interpret the DNA of both Kartell and Laufen, translating them into a unique and integrated concept in which both companies recognize themselves.

Toan Nguyen was born in Paris in 1969 and graduated from ENSI-Les Ateliers in Paris as an industrial designer. Nguyen gained experience by working in various design offices in Paris, Barcelona, and Madrid before working with Antonio Citterio as a design director and design partner. Toan Nguyen set up his own design studio in Milan in 2008. The Toan Nguyen Studio is multidisciplinary, specialising in design development in various product areas.

Filigree lines and a fine surface structure define the LAUFEN shower trays. The clean design by Peter Wirz complements the contemporary bathroom. Marbond, the unique material developed by LAUFEN, combines design freedom with a natural touch. Surface Texture

High drain performance

Hygenic and safe

Choice of two drains: Square or Linear. Both match the colour of the tray for a seamless finish. High drain performance of 37.2 l / min.

Marbond shower trays are hygienic, easy to clean and prevent slipping (DIN 51097, Class C – highest antislip-class).
