DEAR FRIENDS OF L-DUB, Welcome to our annual auction! We are eternally grateful for your attendance and support this evening. The Lake Washington Girls Middle School auction has always been a great way for our community to support the mission and values of our school — every single member of our community has pitched in to make this night possible. We are also grateful to the many generous individuals and businesses who contributed items for tonight’s silent and live auctions, and for our sponsors. We are very proud to be recipients of their support. Our deepest thanks to our auction superstars who have spent months behind the scenes planning tonight’s event, managing our auction database, and leading the way in finding and packaging the wealth of wonderful items you have the opportunity to bid on this evening. You’ll Come A Long Way Baby: About Our Auctioneer, Laura Michalek

Fundraising Auctioneer Laura Michalek still relies on the endurance and discipline she possessed when at the age of 15, she was the first female winner of the Chicago Marathon. While Ms. Michalek has hardly missed a day of running since then, it’s this intention to excel at what she loves that is most evident. “To me Auctioneering is about giving a lot of yourself, before and during the event, in a way that most folks wouldn’t expect.” Her style, fundraising insight, and commitment to her clients and their mission, not only sets her apart, but has created a career beyond Ms. Michalek’s wildest dreams. “I’ve always been deeply interested in how non-profits I care about are going to sustain themselves, so it is nothing less than a thrill to know I can personally and professionally be part of that.” For 15 years prior to becoming a full time Fundraising Professional, Ms. Michalek owned and operated several nationally recognized vintage modern furniture stores in Seattle. “My critical eye, intuition, and energy level has been pretty consistent all these years, so whenever I set out to do something, it’s the same set of skills, just a slightly more developed new chapter.” As the youngest winner in the history of the Chicago Marathon, it has not been lost on Ms. Michalek that this experience informed her whole life. “When I start Auctioneering, it’s like being in the starting block all over again, and I still set out to win, however this time it’s for the organization I’m representing.” To hear what folks are saying about Ms. Michalek visit www.lauramichalek.com or email auctioneer@lauramichalek.com or call direct at 206.464.0850.

SOUTHERN â&#x20AC;¨ GARDEN PARTY Enjoy hickory-smoked pulled pork, ribs and chicken, served with amazing appetizers, succulent southern sides, decadent desserts and, of course, Lynchburg Lemonade, all made with love in the Queen Anne kitchen of Katy Hall, parent of Maggie '15 and Franny '18. Enjoy dinner by "fireflies" (you'll see!) on the patio, catch up with L-Dub friends, and learn the history of southern food and traditions.

CLASS OF 2017 POOL PARTY Start the summer oﬀ with a splash at the Lakeridge Swim Club (outdoor pool and tennis) with Mela Houser, Georgia Pfister, and the Class of 2017! Wednesday, June 17 at 2:30pm. Drinks and snacks will be provided or the girls. What a great way to kick oﬀ summer break!

LWGMS PARENT   BIKE RIDE Join L-Dub parent and biker extraordinaire Eric Prime P'16 for this 35 mile bike ride (climbing 2000') around Lake Washington, with the option of a loop around Mercer Island. Bike ride to start at the Prime residence in Ravenna, with 8am coﬀee and 9am rollout. Lunch and gourmet coﬀees included back at the Prime’s house at the end of the ride.

CLASS OF 2016 POOL PARTY This pool party will celebrate the end of the school year and is open to all L-Dub girls in the Class of 2016! Hosted by the parents of Rachel, Addy, Grace, Stella, and Lillian at Lakeridge Swim Club, June 16th.

SEATTLE   STAIRWAY HIKE Join Jenn Brandon (Eva B '15) and Susie Bunker (Rosie '15) for a morning of great food and Seattle scenery on Sunday, May 17, 2015.   We will meet for coﬀee then set out to "hike" one of Seattle's unique Stairway trails. A picnic brunch will follow allowing more time to catch up with friends and make some new!
