Slaughter bucks/billies as well as wethers were trading unevenly steady. Trade activity and demand were moderate to good. In the sheep supply 18% slaughter lambs, 28% feeder lambs, 38% slaughter ewes and bucks and the remainder were replacement stock. The goat supply consisted of 72% slaughter kids, 18% slaughter nannies/does and the balance slaughter billies and wethers. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate overall. Buyer demand was lacking for the 400 – 450 weight range, while demand for the 700 – 850 weight range was strong. The supply consisted of approximately 68% Holstein steers with the balance being Jersey steers, Jersey cross steers, and Holstein heifers. Approximately 19% of the supply weighed over 600 lbs. The next Holstein feeder cattle auction will be on Monday, November 7, 2016.
