Hi guys, welcome to Vents! How have you been? We’ve been great! We’ve just released our track Love Still Waiting and are getting ready to release a cover song that we think everyone will love, and we’re gearing up for our next video!

frustration (and humor) into our song Love Still Waiting.

Can you tell us more about the story behind your latest track Love Still Waiting? Kenny: A couple months back, my wife and I were in a writing session and I was most likely complaining about everybody talking about the same old stuff in their music. I probably said something like, “everybody talks about love or heartbreak, I want to hear something different about love like when you’re waiting for me to get home from the studio.” I’ll let the wife take it from here.

What other ways can people support the cause? Kenny: We would love for people to subscribe to our You Tube channel and follow us on Spotify so that they can hear the latest music we have to offer. People can also subscribe to our mailing list on our website so that they can stay up-to-date on everything Che-Val.

Laura: Yep, Kenny was on his musician rant about creativity and story line, when he mentioned about how I should write about me waiting for him to get home from the studio, since he knows that’s a huge pet peeve of mine. My eyes immediately lit up when he said this! I am always complaining (Yes Kenny, I’ll give you that, I said “always complaining”) about how he is always running late at the studio, even though I work a half-hour cushion into my brain when he tells me what time he’s coming home. I also always joke that I use this time to my advantage… like he’ll catch me sneaking in an extra Real Housewives, an ex tra bag of Doritos, or a glass of wine. So I channeled all of that

What inspired you to write this song? (See above)

How was the film experience? Laura:When doing our video, we knew we had to work in Kenny ignoring my calls. It’s funny because it’s true! I tell him that when I call or text him, I always envision him checking the phone to see who it is, and then when he sees its me, putting it back down. (Yes Kenny, I’m on to you!) When I check my text messages, it’s like I have an imaginary friend and I’m talking to myself! It’s the things you gotta deal with and at the end of the day, the things you gotta laugh at when you’re married to a musician.” The single comes off your new EP Gone Mad – what´s the story behind the title? Laura: Our album is named after the track Gone Mad. While

our first single was all about youthful innocence, fun, and the creative side of music making, our track Gone Mad represents the darker perspective on the music industry; the egos, the presure, the competition and money. It’s about how you can lose that loving feeling for the music, and still draw art from the darkness. Our album also plays with the dark and the light; the upbeat and the downtempo. It’s a little bipolar in an awesome alternative way, and the title Gone Mad also encapsulates that.We have songs that lean more toward Lorde, Banks, and the Neighborhood and then we have other songs that lean more toward Ellie Goulding, Icona Pop, and Madonna. We felt it was more like putting together a favorite playlist. How was the recording and writing process? Laura: We loved the recording and writing process, because we not only got to spend time immersing ourselves in our passion, we got to spend time with the love of our lives. It was like the best of both worlds. And even if we start to bicker (we’re a married couple!) we could channel it into making the song even better (hello, emotion!). How did you come up with the idea of blending 80’s and 90’s music together? Laura: The best way we can describe it is like deciding to make

cookie dough ice cream. If you can put cookie dough and ice cream (two awesome things) together why wouldn’t you? So putting 80’s and 90’s music together felt delicious. (Can you tell that we’re foodies!) Do you have any plans to hit the road? Laura: I am a high school chemistry teacher, so it is definitely challenging to find the time to tour. We want to put together one-offs and in-studios so that we can quench our performing thirst while I can train my 80 students to be mini “gone mad” scientists! What else is happening next in Che-Val´s world? Laura: We are going to release a cover song on You Tube and Spotify for a current popular radio song done in a completely different way.We are also going to release our dark, down-tempo title song Gone Mad, with video coming soon. So there’s lots of new music to look forward to from Che-Val.
