Cleaner air on HS2
HVO Fuel in our Tippers
In the interest of sustainability, we are proud to be using HVO fuel in our Tipper Lorries at a busy HS2 site.

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel comes from 100% renewable sources. Amongst many sustainability benefits, this fuel in our Scania 8 Wheel Tipper lorries is set to reduce emissions by up to 90% compared to standard diesel.
Benefits include:
■ It contains ZERO Fossil Fuel ■ It eliminates CO2 emissions by up to 90% ■ It significantly reduces NOx, PM and
CO emissions ■ It is biodegradable and non-hazardous if spilt
Our Tippers have covered over 40,000 miles running on HVO Fuel, which resulted in: ■ CO2 reduction of 50.14 metric tonnes ■ NOx reduction of 52.73 metric tonnes ■ PM 2.5 and PM 10 reduction of 0.192 metric tonnes
… this is the equivalent of 9 flights to Sydney
Lynch has collaborated with HS2 Site Managers to begin using this eco-friendly alternative to diesel. These lorries are out moving material to and from HS2 sites right now. This helps us all to reduce environmental impact and is a great step forward in our sustainability journey. With regular reporting, we will be able to monitor the benefits of using HVO fuel in the short term and in the longer term.
