Goldsmith planning and execution of the Lynch Family Day. Over 1000 people registered and the event was so smoothly run. Kayleigh worked incredibly hard and she did us proud. I know she had a great team with Joe Loader, Lucy Comley, Valon Krivenjeva so a big thanks to all of the helpers who also give up their weekend.

Gez Bonner continues to drive, passion and dedication to Lynch training and safety. He works until 7 or 8 every night to make sure every operator is safely working, assessed and confident on any machine they are using. Thanks to this drive and leadership of our assessors a few weeks ago one of our sites were stopped and all sub-contractors were asked for their operator assessments, Lynch was the only company in that section of BBV that was allowed to continue thanks to our assessments.

Steve Hurley managed to resolve a very difficult query with a supplier who was charging until items were collected and not on our off-hire difference of 1 week later, Steve managed to resolve the query and the supplier send credit for over 1k. Thank you Steve for all the times you have helped us.

Valon Krivenjeva has been at the forefront of our Eco driver campaign over the past 3 years, travelling the country and delivering our message to change the behaviour of our operators to become as efficient as they are safe. Lowering idling, fuel usage and emissions on our customer’s sites, including Balfour Beatty, SCS, Keltbray and many others. This is topped off with the Digital Construction Award. He has taken a simple Eco driver presentation and made it into the monster it is today, with everyone around the country wanting a piece of it, including NOCN, CPCS and the Construction Plant Association.

Sam Hart turned a negative situation into a positive one onsite in Lydney (very close to the Wales border). We had a tough start to the blockade and Sam has been away from home all week, without complaint, making sure the customer is happy. The customer even went to the effort to compliment Sam’s response time the following day, after the tough start. Without hesitation, Sam has agreed to be away from home for the 2nd week!

Lyam Hammersley was heading to a plant breakdown when he spotted a tipper that was broken down. He immediately pulled over to see if he could help. After being told that a breakdown vehicle had been called and was about an hour away, he phoned the workshop staff to see if he could get the driver back on the road without the wait. Many people would have driven past. Truly impressed with his one-team outlook and willingness to help no matter what vehicle has an issue.

Adam Cook our transport driver called me to say two machines were rejected from site in Cambridgeshire. He brought them back to the yard, collected another two and brought them back to a happy customer. Adam had to stay on late to do this delivery. Showing he cares - wow from me.

Michael Cunniffe was asked to cover the Fuel truck at Blackwells for 2 weeks while the other driver went on Holiday, Michael had no problem doing this even though he lived over an hour away from the site. After the 2 weeks were up the driver he was covering decided to leave the company and Michael kindly offered to cover until we had a replacement. This shows Passion and a Can do attitude
- Matt WilsonMatthew Wilson took it upon himself to help the company and drive to Rushden at 1800hrs, grab the lorry that was booked into HS2 and bring it to Hemel, so that the driver had enough time to get from Hemel to Birmingham. Thanks, Matt, for your continued dedication and for working such a long day. A natural leader.

Daisy Wicks despite an unscheduled bank holiday, an offsite course, and covering for staff on holiday (whilst asset sales are going crazy), she has worked really late to ensure that the Management Accounts do not go out late. You cannot teach someone to care and be conscientious, you just have it or you don’t. Daisy definitely does!

This is a great piece of work, which involved collaboration with Haulage to test the waste, identifying that it is actually nonhazardous reducing the charges from £2200 per load to £490 per load using Lynch Haulage lorries to move it.

Craig Long responded with a Can Do attitude on Friday afternoon. SCS phoned us to ask if we could remove muck Friday night and Saturday Night both shifts starting at midnight. Craig Long showed his passion and drive to get this last minute request sorted and he even gave up his own time Saturday night to visit site to ensure a smooth process.

Danny Walden has shown a consistent attitude of selfless commitment and determination when it comes to helping his fellow colleagues, whilst having a relatively heavy workload of his own. The Haulage team in Birmingham were asked to support Plant Aid Christmas collection. Adam Allen put his name forward to collect donations - presents or money and he would go to the shops and buy the presents. I’m truly blown away by the team at Birmingham for the way they all teamed together and got on with this mission.

Magdalena Marcinkowska went above and beyond her daily duties to help the haulage department with one of our drivers who had an accident. Due to shock, he was finding it hard to communicate in English so Magda stepped in to help out by communicating in Polish with him. This enabled us to get all the details required for Insurance purposes and calm down our driver.

Sarah White has gone above and beyond in following up on leads obtained from the Winter Marketing Recruitment campaign.
Sarah continually thinks of new and interesting ideas and has built good relationships with operators. She is tirelessly working towards our motto of “making sure the ops will be ready to go when we need them in 2023!”

Jamie -Lee Macvoy took the lead on finalising our company discharge permit application with Thames water. JamieLee identified wet waste had been tipped and stored on the ground at the plant wash-down area, with no yard staff present.
Jamie-Lee embraced the “One Team” approach by mobilising and supervising the spare operator and one of our plant fitters to remove all of the wet-waste and place in dumpers for storage very quickly.
Without Jamie-Lee’s quick thinking and response we would have had our permit application instantly rejected and Thames Water would have been obligated to report the incident to the Environment Agency. Well done Jamie-Lee, keep up the great work.
- Paul LynchJoe Loader deserves a WOW after his amazing response to a customer recently hired the wrong piece of equipment. Needed it swapped out ASAP as works could not continue until resolved. Joe had finished his deliveries/collections for the day, I asked Joe if he could collect a 9T Wheeled Excavator from a local site that afternoon as the customer was desperate.
Joe politely collected the machine immediately, exchange was arranged on site first thing the following morning. Joe is an outstanding member of the team here and always goes above and beyond his duties.
