Happy Holidays Genesis chapter 1-3 of the Bible details the creation of the earth. After each step of the process, God evaluated His work and determined that “it was good”. We must do the same in our own lives – after each contact, conversation, effort, we must evaluate the substance thereof and determine whether or not it was good. Such determination is necessary if we are to create lasting, meaningful legacies for ourselves and the next generation. If the foundation of a thing is not solid (or not good), then that endeavor, relationship, or enterprise will fail. Every day we are presented the opportunity to reevaluate our actions, thoughts, and words and determine whether or not we want to continue down the chosen path. The WONDERFUL news is that if we determine that what we have been doing is not good, we have another chance to get it right. Commit to taking the time to evaluate a thing and determine its true nature.

10 Easy Ways to Save Time & Money RIGHT NOW! 1.When grocery shopping, make your list by walking throughout the entire house and noting what you need. Then clip coupons from the newspaper and print others from www.Coupons.com for items you plan to buy. Stick to your list, and go up and down each aisle so you ensure you get everything you need – the first time. 2.Buy in bulk when items are on sale. This applies to food, household items, and clothes. 3.Buy 89 rather than 93 grade gas. Your car will not know the difference, but your wallet will! 4.Patronize carwashes that offer buy one, get one free specials. Go through the carwash before you go to work to avoid lines. 5.Cancel that unused gym membership! Exercise while you wait as the children participate in their team activities (soccer, cheerleading, etc.): run/walk the track, do calisthenics, bring a jump rope. 6.When going out to eat, frequent places that have “Two for $X” and serve within 15 minutes. Spend your extra time at home with your family playing a board game (Life is always a winner). 7.Send e-cards to say “thank you” and reloadable gift cards for special occasions. You will save on postage and paper cards – and go “green” in the process! 8.Support neighborhood businesses. Shop within a three mile radius of your house to save gas and rejuvenate your local economy. 9.Volunteer your time in an area in which you have expertise. This is an invaluable way to build your network and identify a charity to support. Remember, mileage and expenses are tax deductible! 10.Pay your tithes. Either you pay them, or Uncle Sam is going to get the money. Donations to most religious organizations and charities are tax deductible, and can significantly off-set the amount owed in taxes. Who would you rather get your green? The IRS or Kingdom Building Ministries?

Deep Fried Turkey by Walter Covington Ingredients: 1 Whole turkey, Canola or Peanut oil (enough to cover the whole turkey), ½ - 1 cup of Complete Seasoning (depending on the size of the turkey), Deep fryer, Deep fryer thermostat Directions: Heat Peanut oil/Canola oil in a large heavy-duty deep frying pan/pot. If using Peanut oil, heat to the oil to 410°F; if using the Canola oil, heat to 437°C. Season the turkey from the inside using Complete Seasoning®. Carefully place the turkey into the hot oil. Use a deep fryer thermostat to ensure the oil maintain a constant temperature. When the turkey rises to the top of the oil/grease, the turkey is done.
Shepherds Pie Recipe by Ava Lucas Ingredients: 500g Minced Lamb 800g Potatoes 1 large Carrot 1 large Onion 60ml Milk 30g Butter 50g Cheddar (Mature) 200ml Beef Stock 1 tablespoon Tomato Puree 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon Flour (plain) 1/2 teaspoon Rosemary (dried) 1/2 teaspoon Thyme (dried) Salt Black Pepper Directions: Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mk 6, 400°F). Dice the onion and carrot. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and add the onion and carrot. Fry for 5-8 minutes stirring occasionally until the onion is lightly browned. Meanwhile, skin quarter and boil the potatoes in water until softened. Add the minced lamb to the onion and carrot and fry for a further 10 minutes, stirring and breaking up the mince with a wooden spoon. Stir in the flour. Add the beef stock, rosemary, thyme and tomato puree. Season with black pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated. Mash the potatoes with the butter and milk until smooth. Grate the cheddar and mix into the potato with a pinch of salt. Check the lamb for seasoning, adding salt if necessary (be careful with the salt as your beef stock will already contain salt). Spoon the lamb into a baking dish, and cover with the mashed potato. Use a fork to draw ridges across the top if desired. Bake the shepherds pie for 35 - 40 minutes until the potato is lightly browned. You can use minced beef in this recipe instead of lamb to make cottage pie. If you want the top of the shepherds pie to be browned more, put a little butter on top of the potato.
