About Me
For the past two summers I have worked as an intern at a small firm in Fontana, California called Andresen Architecture Inc. This was the first architecture firm that I worked at. Since it was a small firm, I was able to work on many aspects of the projects. I was able to work on site analysis, on designs with clients, and city plan corrections. Prior to working at the architecture firm, I had worked in parents retail store called Pacific Soccer. I still work there when I can when attending school, but it is usually just during the weekends that I can.
I transferred into the Cal Poly Architecture program in 2019 and got into the 3rd year. Previously I had attended Mt. San Antonio Community College, first as a psychology major then as an architect major. I obtained my psychology associates degree before I switched my major to architecture and stayed at Mt. SAC for another two years for the arch associates. The thing that first caught my attention and made me want to switch my major, was the model making.
I Graduated May, 2023 and was offered a job at Andresen Architecture Inc. I have been working there since the beginning of Septemer 2023. I was given this amazing oppertunity to work abroad.

The Beach house site was located on the Balboa Peninsula in Huntington Beach, California, USA. The project was for a 4 member family with a home work office attached. The purpose of the project was to study a known architect and to attmept to emulate their style. The architect that I choose to study was Tadao Ando. Some of the things I tried to take from Tadao Andos work was not only his use of concrete as the main material but also the curved main entrance which allows for a beautiful reveal of the beach view with a concrete attachment that helps frame the view.

THE WINERY
The focus of this project was interpreting either a landscape or a painting and creating a design from it. Creating iteration after iteration from the chosen object and designing a winery. The clients of this project were three close friends; one is a wine maker, the second a business person, and the third is an investor that is interested in architecture. The site is located in Temecula, California, USA. The total square footage of the program is around 45,740. The program ranged from the necessities of Wine Production,Business/Production, Restaurant and other areas necessary(public restrooms, parking, ect.).

This is a mixed use project in Los Angeles, CA. It is on the streets of Prospect Ave. and Hollywood Blvd. The requirements was a concrete podium with Type 5 construction on top. A total of 45 residential units on top and retail on the ground level. This design was meant to house those with addiction problems as well as other mental disabilities. The design as a open courtyard to invite the people in.
The planters are used to create separations within the courtyard to create more private spaces.

Pre-Fabricated ADUs
This project focused on the fast paste of the Architecture industry and how to efficiently design and build on site. Rather then focusing on designing each ADU separately, each element of the essential floor plan were created as “kits”. There were various versions of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. that were design within certain dimensions. Those parts then could be pieced together to create different sized ADUs quickly and efficiently.

This group project focused on creating architecture that expereses the history of African Americans. For the duration of the semester, we have mainly focused our topic on the power of voices and representing important African-American figures who used their voices to socially impact the community. With this concpet, we watched how it grow from a statue, column, porch, house, to finally, a museum.

For the senior project, I looked to the future plans for development of the LA river and the community plan for a renewed bike/walking lane in the site location. The future community plan is to remove the concrete from the LA River and allow vegitationand trees to grow there while also renovating the bike path that runs along it. This project is looking to that future change and encouraging traffic along the path. Rather than having the project a level above the renewed path, the project will be dropped down to interact with it. This building will be for the workers nearby in the warehouses and industrial buildings. This will be a place of relaxation for them after hours that will have a clear view of the changed LA river.

Andresen Architecture Inc.
I first began working at Andresen Architecture Inc. in the summer of 2021. It was my first internship at an architecture firm and was welcomed to return the following summer break, 2022. Since I wanted to focus on my education, I only worked during my summer breaks. Once I graduated May 2023, I was offered a full time position at Andresen Architecture Inc. and have been working there since. This firm has been extremely supportive and still allow me to work part time remotely while I settle down in Ireland.
The firm has a combination of residential and commercial projects. I mainly worked on residential projects but would occasionally work on commercial projects when needed. Most of the projects I worked on where either a team project, due to scale, and/or were done under the supervision of my Project manager, Flory Smith, or directly with the owner and Principal architect, Doug Andresen.

This is a 7-unit project located in Hawthorne Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335, USA. The client asked for a modern architecture style with each unit having a Additional Dwelling Unit on each property. This project contained 3 different floor plans for the main house along 3 floor plans for the ADUs, each containing 3 different elevation options for the client to choose from. This was also down to attempt to create variation in design to the houses from each other. For this project, I worked on various parts from design to construction drawings with 2 coworkers.
Most of the work was done in Revit, but I was assigned with creating the AutoCAD file for Edison Electrical Company that consisted the site plan with the locations of the underground catch basins, the existing and proposed street lights and the piping of all the utilities.

The Madison retail project is located in 3199 Madison Street, Riverside, CA 92504 and is an expansion/ renovation of an existing buidling. The convinient store is being expanded with an addition of a take-out kitchen. This project was worked on with 2 coworkers.
The city is asking to keep the original design of the existing building and to match the extension to the design of the existing portion. With the expansion, parking needed to be added as well as a trash enclosure.
