G04. Gucci Place Vendome & High Jewelry Event Permanent store & event Paris ( FR ) 2019
Place Vendôme, the iconic epicenter of high jewelry, welcomed a Gucci boutique dedicated to fine and high jewelry. A contrast to the rest of Gucci’s boutiques around the world, which are known for their distinct saturated hues, the design of 16 Place Vendôme is elegantly muted. Cabinets crafted from ebonized wood are lined in verdeacqua satin and antique mirrors, echoed by brass details and a monochromatic mosaic floor in nero maquina and white thassos marble. It is designed to dramatically illuminate the colourful vibrancy of the jewelry itself.

Chalet’s renovation in the Alps Rougemont (VD) 2011-13 procedure: private commission year: 2011-2013 team: NS Architectes, Geneva main activities and responsabilities: detailed and execution plans +interior design.
Renovation of a chalet in Rougemont, Vaud This owners of this beautiful chalet in the Swiss Alps wanted to transform their chalet into a resolutely contemporary luxury home. The success of this project is due to the fact that it is a resolutely contemporary architecture in compliance with the regulations of the region. Like the owners, this chalet has a strong identity. Here we don’t have any reproduction of typical elements of the alpin architecture, but a new interpretation of the architectural vocabulary. The wood is chosen in gray limed oak, without knots. The assembly is done seamlessly from the floor to the walls and ceiling, without plinth, without covering, to enhance the material and the space. Certain elements have been projected and drawn in collaboration with renowned craftsmen from the region. The fireplace, custom-designed by a smoke-maker, is a strong element of the living room.

procedure: public commission year: 2011 team: Dedalo Architettura e Ingegneria main activities and responsabilities: design of the development project, preparation of the building permits, execution plans. The project is part of the redevelopment of part of the old town and in particular of Piazza Savonarola, in which we find the Oratorio of San Sebastiano where there will be the new Museum of Photography and Palazzo Scarampi where we will find the new seat of the Municipality. The project is reflected in the development of this old town square and a road which changes its main function and acquires a pedestrian function; urban element absent in the spatial configuration of the current historic center.
019. Ex-Hotel.
Transformation - 9 apartments Varazze (SV) IT 2011 procedure: private commission year: 2011 team: Dedalo Architettura e Ingegneria sàrl main activities and responsabilities: preparation and preparation of the building permit. Renovation and transformation of a building, in Varazze, Savona.
The project is developed by the reorganization and expansion of the existing building with a volume’s increase in order to obtain 3 apartments for each level. The project proposes the conversion of a hotel into small apartments. On the ground-floor there are 3 apartments with a small private garden. The large terrace replaces an existing metal roof in front of the building and now supported by pillars forming a portico on the ground floor. This new structure will be covered with light wood. The design and the materials used are the result of a thought for a good integration with the architectural heritage of the typical Ligurian village.

The site proposed for the expansion of the Serlachius Museum is located on a land characterized by a slight slope, which gently moves towards Lake Melasjärvi. The project consists of six buildings and a large foyer on the same level buried in the new entrance to the museum, whose function also as filter / entrance / exhibition space is the head of this system. The lobby is the real new heart of the museum as well as a structural point of articulation. Thanks to the transparency, to the reflections of the volumes, of the landscape but also thanks to an in-depth study of the park, the future museum fits perfectly into the Finnish landscape. The exhibition spaces are in communication with the environment, and the flow of visitors to the museum. By approaching these spaces and walking through them, art blends with the environment and with the landscape.

Vertical multifunctionality is a very stimulating case of urban architecture these days. A case with multiple solutions and no one culprit. “Building” in the city means condensing several functions in the same place, without any chance of developing them horizontally. This condition, common to the large scale, the “grandeur” of the building, leads to a new architectural type: the hybrid. “Hybrids” are large buildings with different functions stacked one after the other. Instead of having several buildings on the plot, we decided to plan a hybrid building that takes not only the required functions, but also the spaces public. We started from the Gothic plot, with “linear dwellings” along the street and long narrow backyards, and stood up one floor of offices and stores. This three-storey base is suitable for public spaces, especially the linear park on the south side of the project site. This process produced a hybrid building where different typologies are together and we can no longer distinguish them. This is not a tower, not a building of Hofsiedlung: it doesn’t have a name, we can’t give it a name, but it works. It works as a social condenser, it produces enhanced visual and physical encounters between different types of people who experience building in different ways, for different purposes. So, no name for this building, no iconic shape, but a complex process of shaping to achieve goals, to run a multilayered program. We can’t point out the culprit, we can’t identify it. “But the case is resolved.”
075. Centre des cultures.
Concours Cimbéton 8 Paris Porte de Montreuil Une Maison des initiatives à Porte de Montreuil_ Paris. 2007 It is a hybrid between natural and urban territory and a new search for seamless synergies: a new topography that emerges from the terrain and the requirements of the site. A large square for pedestrians, at different levels, which leads to reference points, such as the famous flea market on weekends and becomes an urban park during the week. An infrastructure that shapes the urban landscape. Its state is a state of mutation, an urban place of interrelation between the citizens and the city. When this new place, new horizon, meets the the tiny house of initiatives, we find events, punctual, but linked to each other by paths, intentions and flows. These events can repeat themselves in progression, if necessary, in expansion, for a program that might expand over time. The boxes that compose the builduing end in a large public square, below, which shows the movements, the people. The interior space of the building becomes a facade, an exterior appearance, a vision of the movements that determine its life.
