A writer and photographer, I initiated "16" to mark 16 August 2013, National Poetry Day in New Zealand. "16" includes this chapbook/e-book, two performances on the 16th, and poetry window displays across the Wairarapa. // NZ Post Book Awards sponsored the main costs for 16; Printcraft assisted with printing costs; Wairarapa REAP covered postage of the chapbook to the region's 48 schools; Masterton Intermediate School (1:30pm) and Gladstone Vineyard (6pm) are hosting free events on Poetry Day; and 26 outlets are distributing the chapbooks free of charge. // Pat White and I co-edited this publication. Anne Taylor designed the cover. Di Batchelor contributed a cartoon, and the 16 writers their work. // "16" is presented by Wairarapa Word, a monthly literary event at Almo's Books, 42 High St, Carterton, New Zealand, on the first Sunday of the month, 3pm.
