April In This Issue

From the General Manager, Mark Reid
The Clubhouse is now being repaired. We have obtained approval of our costs to refurbish the Clubhouse from Nationwide Insurance and we can now release our contractors to do the work. This will be an approximate $650,000 project. We will be starting on the lower level and trying to bring back the Augusta Room, the hallways, the dry goods storage area and the records room first. Getting these areas back will greatly improve our ability to service our membership as well as reduce our offsite storage costs. The Locker Room will be high priority as well, but we won’t be able to fully renovate the locker room until the upper lobby plywood sub floor is replaced. In their April Board Meeting, the Directors will be determining what upgrades, if any, the LOCC and the Association will be making to the facility while we are in construction mode and funding them appropriately which will make the project larger than the base $650k. Our primary mission is to put the Clubhouse back together and reinstate the full service to our members that we had before the Christmas Eve 2022 fire suppression system break. In the meantime, we will continue to route members in a safe fashion back to the banquet room to do their business with the Association staff. This will change from time to time based on the various levels of construction work in the Clubhouse. Please look for the signage that directs you accordingly and remember that there will be times that the front doors under the porte-cochere will be inaccessible due to construction. Banquets and room rentals will continue to be limited in size and some weeks will be blocked out with no activity until we can move staff out of the banquet room and back into the offices. Nichole Melvin, nichole@lpoa.com, is coordinating all banquet requests. Thank you all for your patience and understanding and we are all very much looking forward to having
