From the General Manager, Mark Reid

The Lakewood Property Owners Association recently held our Annual Meeting on April 21 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Board President addressed the state of the Association as well as major projects the Association has either completed or are in progress over the past year. The Treasurer addressed the financial condition of the Association. This information is presented at the important Annual Meeting as full transparency for our stakeholders. As few actually attend the Annual Meeting, we have placed this information in the form of our Annual Report on our website, LPOA.COM, for all members to view at their leisure. As the Lakewood Property Owners Association controls the Lakewood Holding Company (LOCC) the state of the Country Club as well as the financials were presented during the meeting.

The only item of Business for the Annual Meeting was the Election of New Directors. This year, there was only one race and that was for the West Lake Director seat. I sincerely thank both Jonathan Snow and Tony DeMarco, both of whom are wonderful people and ran a low key, high class campaign for election to be on the Board. In this race, Mr. Snow was successful in obtaining the most votes. Therefore, we welcome Jonathan Snow as the new West Lake Director. Subsequently, Joseph Pec, who ran unopposed will join the Board as the Multi Family Director and Tom Maloney, who also ran unopposed, will join the Board as the East Lake Director. We look forward to these new members continuing the mission of the Board and the continued care and improvement of the Lakewood Community. This point in the year also brings the sad moment of having three prior Board Members leave the Board. We all appreciated the wonderful service, talent and perspective that Christy Nyquist, Toni Eckman and Susan Arbo brought to the Board during the past three years.

On behalf of all the Staff at the LPOA and Lakewood Oaks Country Club, we wish all of our community moms a wonderful Mother’s Day. Enjoy.
