The Ripples: August 2020

Page 5

From the Boardroom Kathleen Heydon, Board President Reading through my July 2020 Board Packet, I was astonished to see the Community Service logs had 10 pages of calls they responded to in the month of June. Many of them related to NO ID or a violation with an ID. I recognize it is a distressing event if you are a Lakewood resident and are asked to leave an amenity because you don’t have your ID. Equally offensive to some is when you have an ID and you are asked to refrain from doing something because you are violating the rules/regulations that have been put in place to keep you safe. Please carry your ID to avoid embarrassment or frustration, and please follow the safety rules. When safety rules are not followed and residents, guest, trespassers get hurt, it can hurt every resident in Lakewood if it results in a lawsuit. Friendly reminder - Lee’s Summit has a Noise Ordinance which states Quiet Hours are 10 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. If you feel that Ordinance is not being followed, please call the Lee’s Summit Police Department. They are the enforcers. Remember: Good neighbors increase the value of your property! Stay safe and healthy.
