Concert on the Rock Recap
A Lunker Pulled Out Of Lakewood Lake
Kyle Weeks, a Lee’s Summit resident, while visiting his in-laws Dave and Kathy True, decided to “throw a line” in the lake and try his fishing luck. A period of time passed without much success. Then he hooked a largemouth bass and Kyle knew it was a big fish. After a bit of struggle, he pulled the bass on the dock: a 23-inch, 7.5-pound largemouth. He was able to take a picture holding the bass and then released it in the water.
He described this as the biggest bass he has ever caught in his long fishing experience. Kyle Weeks is married to Lauren True Weeks, a former Lakewood resident. They have two children, Maddie 6 and Kate 2.
Though the last days of the summer season in Lakewood are bittersweet, there is nothing better to end it with than spending a night on the water, dancing and singing along to the music. The Crossroad Sound hit the stage and put on a spectacular performance for everyone in attendance even through the heat! As always, these events would not be possible without the Activities Committee and its volunteers, whose diligent planning, hard work, and love for this community make Lakewood the place that it is. If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering with the Activities Committee, email LakewoodActivitesCommittee@gmail.com.
