RELEASE THE ARTIST IN YOU AND PERFECT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS IN A SNAP! THE COURSE This is a highly practical and enjoyable course that focuses on images, colour and different materials. Students are encouraged to have fun using their own cameras and requested to carry them at all times; the perfect photograph opportunity could be just around the corner! The fascinating use of different camera angles to frame visually effective images is taught and experiments are made with, light, mirrors, magnification, prisms, shadows, reflections and movement to develop a creative eye and make the ordinary, extraordinary. Students will develop individual sketch books during the programme, which they will be able to take home. With the expert guidance of our talented tutor students learn to turn their ideas and stories into creative images, which are ultimately used for the stunning visual element which is displayed at the final certificate ceremony. COMBINING VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS! THE COURSE This course is specifically tailored for students that love creating, making and performing. Students will design and make carnival costumes made from recycled material to be showcased at the UK2Learn certificate ceremony, giving them the opportunity to use their abilities to show off, play and be creative. Working quickly with scrap fabric, foam and other recycled materials to devise characters and imagery as well as developing specific skills such as making and using papier mache and being able to create elaborate animated sculptures. Combining the visual arts with performing arts, music, dance and drama in a community context always brings out new challenges and to develop these skills within a group working towards the final certificate ceremony is very rewarding. Students are invited to step onto the stage and demonstrate their creative side. This course covers the fundamentals of drama combined with practice and performance techniques; it is a truly unique and fun way to learn English.
Students also learn how actors and actresses use their voice and body correctly on stage to ensure they are in tip top condition to put on a spectacular end of programme production. Having completed a number of rehearsals, students develop a good understanding of what it is like to be the star of the stage and are able to apply the English language spontaneously, confidently and creatively.
