ADMISSIONS STATISTICS¹

Approximately 85% of the available positions are reserved for residents of Alberta, while 15% are given to out-of-province applicants A minimum GPA of 3 20 is required for residents of Alberta, while the minimum for out-of-province residents is 3 80 (out of 4 0) The Faculty of Medicine has also instituted a requirement for non-Albertan applicants, where they must have a minimum score of 128 on the CARS section of the MCAT in order to be considered The mean GPA for successful candidates in 2017 was 3.86. In the 2018-19 cycle, a total of 576 applicants were invited to interview, with 456 being residents of Alberta and 120 being out-of-province students. Interviews are conducted through Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

APPLICATION PROCESS¹

All applicants interested in entering in Fall 2023 must apply through the University of Calgary’s UCAN online system before October 4th, 2022. Completed applications should include an official transcript, Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) scores, a history of employment and any publications or awards, three letters of reference, and detailed description and statements on the applicant’s top ten experiences.
