Monitor the activity and allow the students to use their books if they need to recollect some words or expressions related to the questions. Remind them to use the Present Continuous tense to describe the activities in the picture. Task 1

(7 min)

Ask the students to look at the first aid kit in the picture and individually match the items from box A with the objects in the photograph. Then allow them to compare their answers in pairs, and help them if they have any doubts. Before moving to the second part of the activity, make sure that the students understand what the words in box B stand for. You may either present them with real-life objects or ask the students to define the words in English. If they are not familiar with the vocabulary, provide the explanations yourself. Then ask the students to work in pairs, discuss and decide which three things from the list they want to include in their kit. Task 2

(6 min)

Ask the students to look at the table and inform them that it contains words arranged in word families. Ask them to work individually and fill in as many words as they can. Then ask them to compare their answers in pairs. Finally, check the activity as a class and provide all of the correct answers, making sure that the students know their correct spelling and meaning. © Macmillan Polska 2014

Then ask them what they decided to put into their kits in Task 1 and note their answers on the board (so that the content of all of the kits is clearly visible). Ask them which kit would be most helpful for the woman in the text. Finally, ask Question 3 and allow volunteers to share their experiences in class. KEY: 1. B Task 5 – Poziom podstawowy
