I hope this letter finds you well and thriving as we move into the second half of the year. June was a month of growth, learning, and community for us at the Chamber.
One of the highlights for me personally was attending a week of classes for the Institute for Organizational Management (IOM), the professional development program for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This program is designed to enhance individual performance, elevate professional standards, and recognize chamber professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of non-profit management. I took away a wealth of knowledge and am eagerly looking forward to the next three years in the program.
June also featured the much-anticipated Gold Rush Golf Outing at Golf Hills. We enjoyed a fantastic turnout and gorgeous weather, and it was heartwarming to see everyone having such a good time. A huge thank you goes out to all the amazing volunteers - this event wouldn’t have been possible without your dedication and hard work. I also want to extend my gratitude to our event sponsor, MTC Communications, and to all the many other sponsors who made the day extra special.
Looking ahead to July, I am beginning to plan the Macomb Business Academy, which kicks off on September 5. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting initiative. Additionally, I will be taking a much-needed vacation to Colorado at the end of the month, where I will celebrate my birthday and my 20th wedding anniversary with my husband, Jeremy.
Wishing everyone a wonderful month ahead. Please feel free to contact me anytime at lauren@macombareachamber.com
Welcome to July!
I’m writing this one fresh off the 2024 Chamber Golf Outing, which is always our biggest and best event of the year. With an office of two, we rely heavily on our volunteers to help us set up, take photos, tear down, and SO SO much more. Thanks to all who donated their time and talents.
The event was a resounding success, and it would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of each one of you. From the early morning tee-offs to the final round of applause, your presence and participation truly made the day memorable. And for whomever did a reverse rain dance, THANK YOU MOST OF ALL!
We want to thank you for your patience as the Summer tends to take on a life of it’s own, resulting in some muchdeserved Chamber staff vacations, last-minute work from home days with kids thrown in the mix, and special seasonal events which often take a lot of staff time and focus. We can assure you, we are back to business and ready to help meet your member needs!
So what’s next for the Chamber? We have Business After/Before Hours as usual and we’ll hit the ground running planning the 2024 Downtown Block Party for August. Be sure to follow us on social media and check your email for all the latest and greatest ways to get involved in the Chamber.
If you need to reach me, please email me at any time. I assure you no question is too weird - that’s why I’m here!
So get out and enjoy July and let’s make it a great month!
