Summer 2012 Menu The macrobert cafébar menu is available all day Tuesday to Sunday and offers a freshly prepared selection of starters, mains, desserts and daily specials. Dishes marked (v) are suitable for vegetarians. We also use free range eggs in all our home-made produce. Our fries are made using vegetable oil. macrobert strives to be a nut free zone but if you have any questions about our dishes, please ask.

Starters Soup of the day with a dinner roll (£3.10) / with garlic bread (£3.50) / with cheese garlic bread (£3.95)

Pakora Onion and potato Pakora with coriander and lime dipping sauce and red onion salad (v) (£3.50)

Tasting platters A medley of marinated Kalamata olives, Feta cheese, sun blushed tomatoes and houmous served with warmed foccacia fingers, olive oil and salad (v) (£4.95)

Chorizo, salami and mixed olives served with warmed foccacia fingers, olive oil and salad (£4.95)

Gravadlax, hot smoked salmon and prawn Marie Rose with salad served with warm brown roll and butter (£4.95)

Light bites and Salads Nachos Mild chilli nachos topped with jalapenos, melted cheddar, sour cream and homemade tomato salsa (v) (£4.95)

Chicken Nachos As above, topped with sliced grilled chicken breast (£6.10)

Beef chilli Nachos Mild chilli nachos topped with tender chunks of beef chilli, melted cheddar, sour cream and jalapenos (£6.45)

Vegetarian Nicoise salad Mixed salad leaves, warm new potatoes, boiled egg, green beans, black olives and tomato, sprinkled with herbs and drizzled in our delicious house dressing (v) (£5.95)

Chicken Nicoise salad As above, with sliced grilled chicken breast (£6.95)

Duck and plum sauce salad Shredded warm duck on a bed of mixed leaves and cucumber ribbons, served in a plum sauce dressing with chilli and ginger and garnished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds (£7.25)

Fish cakes of the day Homemade fish cakes served with a sweet chilli dipping sauce, roll and butter and a salad garnish (£5.25) Varies daily please see specials menu for today’s choice


Main courses Thai vegetable curry Chef’s selection of stir fried crispy seasonal vegetables in a medium hot green curry sauce, served with Thai sticky rice (v) (£6.95)

Turkey with new potatoes and crunchy vegetables Slices of turkey breast marinated in lemon and cracked black pepper, served with a medley of new potatoes and a selection of crunchy seasonal vegetables (£7.75)

Venison and cranberry burger Succulent char grilled venison and cranberry burger topped with tipsy caramelised onions, served in a rustic roll with French fries and a salad garnish (£8.25)

Tapas plate Egg tortilla, stewed pork and chorizo in a tomato sauce, chicken goujons in a nacho crumb with aioli dip, garlic bread and salad (£8.50)

Fish and chips Freshly battered Haddock and chips served with buttered peas (£8.95)

Desserts Home made apple tart Tatan Caramelised chunks of apple on a puff pastry base served with vanilla dairy ice cream and a splash of cream (v) (£4.25)

Summer pudding A stack of lightly stewed summer fruits interspersed with layers of coulis soaked bread (or brioche) served with a refreshing blackcurrant sorbet (v) (£4.75)
