We run a huge variety of classes, workshops, creative events and performance opportunities in drama, dance, film, art and literature throughout the year. Our creative activities will give you the chance to work with some of Scotland’s greatest artists, spark your imagination and give you time to create, play, imagine, dream, take risks, have fun and be inspired! FOR PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN Drama
Tue 13.30 – 14.15 I For 3-5 year olds I £40 An exciting drama group for children aged 3-5 years, led by Frozen Charlotte Theatre Co. who produced the award winning Too Many Penguins. Wee Play encourages children to explore their creative side through drama and play. Dance / Movement
Thu 11.00 – 11.45 I For 3 – 5 year olds I £40 A pre-school class which encourages learning without parents in a creative, playful way. Using games, storytelling and music, the class will build movement skills and confidence in a lively, exciting burst of fun!

macrobert’s all new Musical Theatre Class bursts into Wednesday evenings this autumn. For all those interested in acting, singing and dancing, or who have enjoyed taking part in either our summer festival musicals or our Panto, this is the ideal class to learn and perfect routines and songs. The three hour class will involve all aspects of performing in Musical Theatre: acting, singing and dancing and will be led by some of Scotland's best musical theatre artists. Whether you have or haven't been in a musical theatre production before, this class will support and develop your all round performance skills for the stage. FOR SECONDARY AGES Dance
(S1 – 6) I Thu 18.00 – 20.00 I £65 MYDC are an innovative group of young dancers who create new dance pieces, collaborate with other dance companies and perform in venues across Scotland. This summer MYDC are performing in London as part of U.Dance, 2012.
Film
(S1 – 6) I Thu 18.00 – 20.00 I £85 Great for those starting out in film-making, wanting to perfect their practical knowledge and understanding behind the camera or practice the basics of editing, this class will be looking at film making from the creation of an idea right through to the final edit. For those who have perfected the basics and are looking to add a little more spice to their films, we will look closer at effects editing, creating videos and animations.

FOR ADULTS Thu 12.00 – 13.00 I £40 Our adult dance class is a class for anyone age 60+. No experience necessary! The emphasis is on fun while learning new routines.

NTS Exchange National Theatre of Scotland in partnership with macrobert Tue 3 – Sat 7 Jul In July 2012, macrobert will host the National Theatre of Scotland’s vibrant Exchange Festival, where the next generation of theatre-makers from Scotland and across the world present a rich programme of devised pieces, inspired by and created in collaboration with some of today's most accomplished national and international theatre-makers. For Exchange a newly formed macrobert performance group have created Do Not Feed the Trolls, a provocative and darkly entertaining piece of theatre that celebrates those moments in life when you just can't help but crush the soul of your fellow human being. Family Fundays are a regular feature in the macrobert events calendar. The Family Fundays will have something for everyone and provide an opportunity for you and your family to have fun and explore your creative side in our family friendly arts venue. Choose from a pick and mix of creative activities, including interactive storytelling performances, drop in dance, drama, film and arts workshops, creative quizzes and more. How to book To book please contact our Box Office at 01786 466666 or book in person at macrobert. All prices are for one term. Classes must be paid in advance, no later than the week prior to term starting. Under 18s information All under 18s must have a signed core consent form from parents or guardians. It is suggested that parents/guardians attend the start of the first session in order to sign the form. Alternatively the form can be completed at home and returned on the first session. Friends Discount With our macrobert friends discount you can receive 10% off the price of our classes and projects as well as 20% off tickets, food and drink! Ask our Box Office for more information and to apply. Cancellations All details are correct at the time of going to print. If classes are for any reason cancelled, macrobert will endeavour to be in touch with you prior to the beginning. Subsidised Places There are a select number of subsidised places for those who may find it difficult to afford the full cost. Kids Film Club
