ON CHESIL BEACH Based on the novel by Ian McEwan and starring Saoirse Ronan, Emily Watson and Anne-Marie Duff, this film is set in England in 1962. Edward and Florence have just gotten married and are enjoying a modest honeymoon as they gradually get to know each other. They have very little relationship experience between them and are preoccupied and scared of the intimacy of marriage, which casts a shadow on what should be a happy time for the young couple. COMES TO TOWN We are bringing Cycle Cinema to the heart of Stirling this summer, our contribution to the dynamic cultural event that’s running as part of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships - Festival 2018.

AN IDEAL HUSBAND

A new production of the Rolls-Royce of English comedies broadcast live from the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End. This entertaining and topical play brings an act of political sin into the heart of the English home. As an ambitious government minister, Sir Robert Chiltern’s smooth ascent to the top seems assured until Mrs Cheveley appears in London with damning proof of his previous financial chicanery. SWAN LAKE

The Royal Ballet creates a new production of this ballet, with additional choreography by Artist in Residence Liam Scarlett. Remaining faithful to the Petipa-Ivanov text, Scarlett brings fresh eyes to the staging of this classic ballet, in collaboration with his long-term designer John Macfarlane. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful woman, Odette, he is enraptured. Chichester Festival Theatre’s production received five-star reviews for its sell-out run, and transfers to the West End for a limited season. MAYERLING

This is a classic of the Royal Ballet repertory, with its emotional depth and haunting imagery. Kenneth MacMillan choreographed a complex work around the psychologically tormented heir to the Habsburg Empire, Crown Prince Rudolf. From the ballet’s start, the glamour of the Austro-Hungarian court is contrasted with undercurrents of sexual and political intrigue that drive the story to its violent climax in a double suicide. Wagner’s Ring cycle is one of the greatest works of all opera. FAMILY REWIND PETER RABBIT Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit makes the leap to the big screen in this adventure for all the family. Peter and his sisters spend their days having fun in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden. But things are about to get interesting, when Bea a warm-hearted animal lover moves in next door.
