Welcome back It is a real pleasure to welcome you back to Macrobert’s programme for 2022. In the two years since we last published a brochure, we have presented a range of our work, in many different forms, doing our very best to bring you as much of the arts and entertainment that you love as we could. I am truly grateful to all of you who took part, tuned in or turned up to those events, also to my colleagues who kept Macrobert Arts Centre going when we were closed, and made the venue safe for everyone when we could be open. The artists and companies who light up our screens and stages with their vibrant creativity have had an extremely difficult time so we are delighted that many of them will join us for the first part of 2022. To get us off to a joy filled start there are comedians, comedies and entertainment galore, including fabulous family shows – there’s a guaranteed laugh for everyone. There’s also excellent drama, musical theatre and live music gigs, a wonderful range of the best of performing arts for you to enjoy. We have all been waiting for some of these performances since March 2020 and I cannot tell how much everyone here is looking forward to welcoming you in. See you soon

Mark Thomas 50 Things About Us Sat 29 Jan | 8pm £16/£14 This is a show about songs, gongs, loot, tradition, wigs, nicking, statues, art and identity. A sort of funny national edition of Who Do You Think You Are? Fresh from the great man himself, he says: ‘It’s another slightly odd show, a sort of sweary History Channel with laughs and creative mischief. If you’ve seen my shows before, this one is going to be a show in the vein of 100 Acts of Minor Dissent.’

‘Righteous, moving and funny… Mark Thomas should be on prescription’ ★★★★ The Herald

About Us Macrobert Arts Centre is a Scottish charity [Charity no: SC039546] based on the campus of the University of Stirling. The campus is set at the foot of the Ochil Hills, and surrounds the Airthrey Loch.

Your visit

Following a major University re-development project, our front doors now form part of Campus Central, the building extension on the site of Queen’s Court roundabout. This area has now been pedestrianised. Look out for the signs to guide you to our venue. We welcome all visitors with additional access requirements and are committed to making our work and spaces accessible for everyone. Our building is accessible to wheelchair users and we have a changing places toilet, you can find us on the CPT register. Gender neutral toilet cubicles are available in the Playhouse Foyer.

Family Friendly

We welcome children and families and are accessible for prams and pushchairs, an unsupervised buggy park is available in the foyer area opposite the bar. Booster cushions are available on request for the Filmhouse. Mothers are welcome to breastfeed anywhere and we have baby changing facilities in both the men’s and women’s toilets in the main foyer.

Familiarisation visits

We understand that visiting a new place can be unsettling for some people. If you would like to arrange a pre-event tour, please get in touch by emailing venue@macrobertartscentre.org

Parking and Drop Off

There are additional blue badge car parking spaces available outside of our new entrance with an easy to access ramp right to our front door. This is also where you can drop off.

The Bus Hub

The bus hub on campus is located by the Stirling Court Hotel. There are regular buses to and from the campus bus hub and a number that drop off on Hillfoots Road at the back of the university.
